Join a hero who must unite the free people of Magalan against a new threat – the Skyands, who want to change the face of the planet forever. It’s time to dive into the open-world experience from the award-winning creators of the Gothic and Risen series, Piranha Bytes.
Genre: RPG

"Perhaps, in the end, reviews of this kind are slightly unnecessary for games developed by companies like PB, and can be completely replaced by specific short sentences: "fans of open-world RPGs will be more than entertained by this", "fans of immersive AAA experiences expecting an extremely polished product with Hollywood-level production values will be discouraged", "fans of PB will love it". We live in a Eurojank world. Let us remain here, my friends.

Those expecting a well-polished AAA RPG experience with the highest possible production values will probably have to lower their expectations. For Piranha Bytes fans, however, ELEX II is exactly what they would want it, and expect it, to be.

Ancient-Red-Dragon: I'd be a lot more inclined to buy this if I had played the first one, which I didn't, because THQ treated GOG like second-class citizens by not giving GOG customers Achievements for the first one.

Hopefully THQ will make that right one day by adding them, but I doubt they will.
I had no idea people cared this much about Achievements now day's. To me, they really add nothing of value but maybe I grew up in a different time of gaming.

I don't get it either, it makes people do things they wouldn't do just to get something that says they did that thing, if I'm doing something, it's because I want to do it, not for some pixel stickers that have no value

edit: Same with playtime, I have both turned off in Galaxy, I don't care about either of those things "oh I played this game for 1700 hours, I'm so cool"

Others might use it to track how much of their life they are wasting

Agree. Achievements are the dumbest thing in the world. "yay me, I good at video game." Try building a house from scratch, then I'll be impressed.

I MIGHT pick it up when it is on sale... But probably NOT here.

Mr.Mumbles: Humans: The ultimate Pavlovian dogs. ;)
Real Zombies nowadays don't want brains anymore, they want achievements...
I'm a huge fan of Piranha Bytes RPGs, they have a very unique look and feel to it - the "Ruhrpott-Charme" as we say in germany. :)

Will definitely pick it up at some point.
Not only achievements mostly are unecessary, they are annoying as heck!

Start the game for the first time, notification, create a new save file, notification, beat first monster, you get it notification. Go to the bathroom, notification!!!!
Worse when the said achievement notification blocks important UI game items, like save button... Looking at you Kings Bounty Warrior of the North)

When achievements are well done and built into the game itself, like Into the Breach, it really adds to the game, otherwise are nothing but annoying stuff. I see some people complaining about some XY game don't have some achievement but at the same time complain about some game with checkpoint type save game...

well, once in the arcade achievements were called score. Achievements are sometimes more interesting than just a score, or can let you see what paths you have taken in a game and what is left to do, or provide interesting challenges. I prefer them to be in-game rather than tied to a client like Galaxy.

Eh... can I be mean to C. and Dex, and ignore them for the rest of the game?
Where is patch 1.02 offline installer for GOG version?
