A Point & Click Hugventure.

Remember how adventure games used to be super-weird back in the day? Welll... Here's Dropsy, available on Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux -- DRM-free on GOG.com with a 10% discount.

Dropsy used to be a beloved circus clown, bringing joy to his little town alongside his Ma' and Pop. His unfortunate appearance and inability to communicate obscured by the happiness, spirit of joy, and entertainment he brought upon the world - but when a fire causes Dropsy to lose his mother, his livelihood, and the life he's always known - he's left getting-by in a decrepit circus-tent, caring for his sickly father. Still, unfazed, Dropsy does what he can to share his positive outlook on life with everyone. Literally everyone..
Dropsy's objective is to... hug. Hug 'em all. But when you're a hulking, scary-looking clown, people can take a while to warm up to the idea - they also run super fast. But there's a chance: the folk you encounter around town will all have a very particular need, communicated through visual thought bubbles that breach all language barriers. You'll traverse the city looking for the right solution, never obscure or too confounding, and win the hearts and love of the people. Dropsy's classic art style, playful music and love-filled message provide a stark contrast to his face. His awful, awful face.

The Dropsy: Warm Damp Hug is coming for you as well! A package full of hugs, and music - including the OST and Eternal Hug EP by Jay Tholen, in both FLAC and MP3 - and Dropsy's Book of Secrets. All at the same 10% discount.

Clown around in Dropsy, DRM-free on GOG.com. The launch discount will last for one week, until Thursday, September 17.

Stream watch:

Want to see the creepy clown live? MegapiemanPHD will be playing it live on our channel. Tune in to Twitch.tv/GOGcom tomorrow (Friday, September 11th) starting at 4pm GMT (or 6pm CESt, 12pm EDT, and 9am PDT in some other time zones)!
I'll prbably buy this after a slightly bigger discount (I'm cheap).

Personally I love clowns, even the sad or creepy ones.

Now if you want to see a good clown show watch American Horro Story Freakshow (I guess Freakshow was season 4). The clown might not be in every episode but he does leave his mark. Great show anyway (if you like that sort of thing), Definitely not a series for the kiddies though.

Barry_Woodward: "Please note that you are required to own Dropsy on GOG.com to be able to purchase and play DLC: Dropsy: Warm Damp Hug"

Dropsy: Warm Damp Hug Edition (base game + DLC) is $17.99 on that other digital distribution platform. For GOG, where you have to purchase the base game and DLC separately, it's currently $18.98.

yogsloth: I stand corrected and stunned.

I did not realize they wanted ten bucks for soundtrack and hint book only.
Yeah, it's not just the soundtrack, but also Jay Tholen's CD that he made while doing music for Dropsy.
Clowns in general are creepy. This clown is just EXTRA creepy.

I kind of expect him to end the game by going back through and chomping off the heads of everyone he hugged prior.
The DLC is 10% off now, only after I purchased it. Ideally launch discounts should be in place at launch. :\

I'm sure support will provide you the difference in store credit as they probably forgot to put up the discount earlier when they added the DLC.

right, lol.
Creepy clown simulator? I like the sound of that.
So is a real ~adventure game~ with puzzles and inventory or is it a simplistic joke game?

It is definitely a REAL adventure game, playing like an open world non-linear version of a LucasARTS 90s classic like Full Throttle, Day of the Tentacle, or Monkey Island.

Can confirm this. It looks weird and silly on the outside but it's a right proper adventure game :)

BreOl72: "Languages:
Text only: English (All languages are supported as there is no text in the game.) "

From watching the trailer and the screenies, I think, I might have a hard time guessing, what the townsfolk could want from me.

For an adventure, some textual descriptions would have been more appropriate, than some more or less abstract symbols, maybe?
Machinarium had no text either, and it is considered to be one of the best adventure games (and rightfully so).

As far as Dropsy goes, can't really comment, as I haven't received my backer key yet.

Well, for me, anyway.
No it wouldn't. Trust me. Everything makes sense when you play...eventually. The symbolic text in some cases us part of the puzzle and it is deliberately vague at times but I guarantee that once you start wandering around and interacting with the environment and people, more and more of it makes sense. The idea is that drops cannot speak or completely understand language either.

I wish I knew what the hell to do with the tomato. Nobody seems to want it.
