guppy44: This looks nice, but that first bullet point stating it's a procedurally generated world has me a bit concerned. I don't tend to be a big fan of that normally. Does anyone have any feedback on that? I'd love to hear.

Carradice: Same dislike here for procedurally generated worlds. However, it worked for Eador and it works for CIvilization and the like.

Maybe when the scale is higher, at RP or tactical, things look worse.
That's true. Thanks for the input. :)
Realtime strategy?

So what is this more like? Warcraft 3? Populous? Settlers? HOMM (in realtime)? The Sims?

I couldn't tell for sure from the video. I got both Warcraft and Settlers vibes from it.

No its more akin to Majesty games cause you don't control units. You
just set goals for them.
Looks very interesting.
Looks pretty, and potentially interesting. Any word on the chance of a Linux release at some point?

I was about to put it onto my large maybe-pile but now I'm intrigued again. Anyone got some actual experience with it to relate? Even that other place does not seem to have any reviews but several pages in the forum... Love? Hate? Love/hate?
Looks good and reminds me of Eador. But sadly it comes without Linux support.

Oh, Majesty. That makes the lack of a Linux version even worse.

question to people who bought it. Store lists this game to have online multiplayer - does it require galaxy for this purpouse, or direct ip/lan is an option?

The Linux version is being worked on right now.

It supposedly works well with Proton 4.2.9.

A game I've been specifically requesting on the Steam forums finally comes to GOG and I've blown the next few months of my gaming budget...

$#&^ YOU, FIRE EMBLEM!

Wishlisted, and thanks for bringing it, I'll be picking this up when my discretionary funds aren't so limited.
Its interesting that nearly all reviews say this is similar to a 4x like Stellaris, but its only listed as RTS. My understanding is that its missing some elements of 4x like diplomacy, so it doesnt make sense to get the designation. Not all reviewers are actual gamers and it seems most "games journos" arent either.

I had this wishlisted elsewhere and was waiting for more reviews to pick it up along with a good sale. Coming here was a pleasant surprise and made it an eash decision to pick it up.

That is what I got from the description, too. Great game, Majesty. The Settlers is another series where the player does not control the units, for those who like that.

Good to hear. Hopefully the Linux version will come to GOG then.

I have not (yet) bought it but under system requirements you will find this note:
Other: GOG Galaxy required for Multiplayer

Unfortunately this obviously means that there is no multiplayer option for LAN or direct internet play without galaxy. Which in return - for me - means that I will not buy it and have wishlisted it for now...

Note to gog and game developers: make your games really drm-free and allow multi-player games without galaxy or other client software and more games will be sold when they are published (at higher prices!). For me the game is partly crippled because multi player options are bound to galaxy and therefore I may buy it later at 80 % discount for the single player part only....

Does this means that Galaxy needs to be connected to internet in order to play in a LAN? (If that is the case, it is crazy. Why?)
