The definitive version of the emotional adventure is here and -40%.

- Improved art and sound: tweaked character models, improved lighting, an expanded soundtrack, remastered voice-overs and reworked sound effects
- Various gameplay tweaks
- Improved performance
- Improved German and French localization
- Support for save slots
- Updated engine
- Lots of smaller bugfixes

Those who already own the original's Special Edition will also receive the Final Cut OST for free.

The 40% discount will last until July 28, 3PM UTC.

Watch the trailer.

Kobi_Blade: Still wondering if you need to play previous games, to play this.
In any case, it won't make the story that much less confusing. I played through the previous games a few years ago, then read up on the plot Dreamfall: TLJ again before stating Chapters, watched the Recap as well, and it was still a mess. ;)
So... this is the Special Edition Upgrade included?
That's fine and dandy but what we really need to know is: where is the rhino?

While not strictly necessary, you'd probably get more out of the game if you play at least Dreamfall. The Longest Journey isn't strictly necessary, as it's a story about April Ryan and Zoe isn't in it. But you should play that anyway, as it is a great game.

but this game is more a conclusion to TLJ than it is a conclusion to Dreamfall...
the identity of Lady Alvane is the question of TLJ answer in Chapters... but there are many characters from Dreamfall (like the twins) that are still a mistery on chapters.
nice

"Dreamfall : Chapters" is the direct continuation of the second game, "TLJ : Dreamfall", so I'd say it's better if you do this one before.
There are references to the first game (the heroine of "the longest journey" is one of the important characters of Dreamfall), but they are not mandatory to get into Dramfall or Chapters : Same world, but different plot, different main character, and very different gameplay.

It's not even remotely a conclusion of TLJ. Exactly because Lady Alvane. In the end of TLJ she alludes to a story about unification fo two worlds and War of the Balance. So that's the story TLJ (or more exactly TLJ Home) supposed to end.

you cannot say that it's a conclusion to Dreamfall anyway... But it answer more question about TLJ than it answer questions from dreamfall.

I think what I can say - Dreamfall Chapters is not conclusion period. ;)

seppelfred: Thanks for the free update!

I don't have the Final Cut OST in my library yet.

JudasIscariot: It's being sent out in batches but you can try refreshing your account and seeing if it shows up :)

Click this link: https://www.gog.com/account/refresh and see if it helps :)
I'm finding this very confusing. The OP says "Those who already own the original's Special Edition..." What edition is that? A quick search confirms Dreamfall Chapters only have one edition on GOG. In fact, I have this game in my library, gained as a freebie in a sale last year. Are those that got the game as a freebie entitled to the OST? Because it's still not in my shelf after all these days and I think if it is supposed to be but I'm not sure. (Yes, I refreshed my account, thank you.)

Or maybe when the OP says "the original's Special Edition" it is talking about the first game in the series? Although it wouldn't make sense; and besides, that game also have only one edition on GOG and I have it for a while so it can't be the reason why I didn't get the OST either.

I'm okay with waiting as long as I eventually get it, mind you. I'm just asking for someone to explain this "Special edition" mess.

I don´t remember it correctly, so take it with a grain of salt, but I think your Dreamfall Chatpers became SE only after purchasing the SE upgrade (artbook, OST and like...).
I don´t know whether there was separate SE, as in Gods will be watching or Shardlight (SE, basic game, SE upgrade) games.

I kinda did a bit of investigative work and it seems you are right. There was a Season Pass, a Special Edition and a SE upgrade, but apparently all of them were replaced by the recent release.

Broken links to all that stuff can be found in Dreamfall Chapters' old release threads like this one.

It looks like I can't claim the OST for free after all. Okay.
