The definitive version of the emotional adventure is here and -40%.

Dreamfall Chapters: The Final Cut has just arrived, bringing significant improvements across the board. Current owners of the game will receive this for free and anyone who was still on the fence can now get it 40% off for a week.

This marks the end of a very long journey, but the wait was more than worth it. The Final Cut adds an in-game map, character library, playable deleted scenes, and a concept art gallery but also several things that both newcomers and veterans will appreciate, like:

- Improved art and sound: tweaked character models, improved lighting, an expanded soundtrack, remastered voice-overs and reworked sound effects
- Various gameplay tweaks
- Improved performance
- Improved German and French localization
- Support for save slots
- Updated engine
- Lots of smaller bugfixes

Those who already own the original's Special Edition will also receive the Final Cut OST for free.

The 40% discount will last until July 28, 3PM UTC.

Watch the trailer.

todemax: It's basically just a big patch. Why are you so angre?
Exactly, I could understand if it was for Baldur'sGate vs Baldur'sGate "Enhanded" edition where there are real differences between the two, but here it's just some marketing shtick for what is just a patch.

(The cynic in me also strongly suspect it's also an easy way to appear as a "new" game on Steam and benefit of an increased exposure as a result)
Keep in mind also that this Final Cut also somewhat restores original content that was earlier cut or replaced to improve pacing or due to community feedback when the last / 5th chapter was released. This is done via the "Deleted scenes" section from the main menu (I think).

So, in some ways, this is closer to the "original" game than whatever you had before in your library.

seppelfred: Thanks for the free update!

I don't have the Final Cut OST in my library yet.

JudasIscariot: It's being sent out in batches but you can try refreshing your account and seeing if it shows up :)

Click this link: https://www.gog.com/account/refresh and see if it helps :)
I was just about to ask about the OST, because it does not show as owned for me, although I do have it in my library, with the Final Cut, which confused me.

Thankfully OST + Final Cut is here, I am looking forward to play it :)

You're probably seeing two different soundtracks:

The previous sound track is now labelled as "Book 1 soundtrack".

Once everyone amongst those who qualify gets their Final Cut soundtrack, there will be some cleaning up on the bonus goodies section due to the fact that the bonus goodies are available for all instead of just those of you who purchased the Special Edition or Special Edition Upgrade back in the day :)

It would be really great if more recent reviews showed up instead of complaints about episode 1...
This is a very good game - and probably a lot better now that it's become a complete story! -, but it does not show from the reviews here since they still reflect on chapter 1 from 2014, not the final game from 2017...

It would be really great if GOG reintroduced review-sorting/filtering.

BTW good to have a free upgrade. Would have to buy and play the prequels first.

Thank you so much for this, back when the chapters were still coming I lost my save game just before the last chapter came out, ever since then I wanted to replay the game just so I would be able to see the ending ( I really enjoyed the game ) but I never been able to get myself to do it. Now with this release I will finally be able to justify playing the game from the start again, and the losing the saves are no longer a problem because of the cloud support (thank you for that!)!

So yeah just a bunch a thanks for this, for both the Developers and GoG!

The same happened to me.
Now it's time to (re-)install the completed game. Having a cloud in the galaxy is not really bad ;)

Thanks for the update.

Those who purchased the Special Edition Upgrade also qualify for the new OST, right?

Final cut standard edition is supposed to only have wallpaper and avatar, just like the initial version? The rest (may) be removed, am i correct?

No, the Final Cut edition will have all of the bonuses from the Special Edition. If you don't see those bonuses yet, please let me know.

edit: Once the soundtrack for The Final Cut is distributed to all qualified buyers I will clean up the duplicate bonuses that you may be seeing if you have previously bought either the Special Edition or the Special Edition upgrade :)

I'm seeing multiple soundtrack in my library. There's a Book 1 soundtrack, a SE upgrade soundtrack (314 MB in FLAC), and a third soundtrack (668 MB in FLAC). Is it one of these? I bought the complete soundtrack on bandcamp anyway. Is there a difference?
Thank you ever so much! :)
