Have you not read a single thing on here over the last two years? Or in fact read any of the posts I presented above? The only thing that gog does not as yet have is an optional ceg component. I say optional as there are lots of games on steam which are drm free, i.e. Do not have the ceg component, like this title.
As for required online, try playing Gwent, absolver, etc. Offline. It's been made clear at each and every juncture that if steam does it, then gog will do it, client, regional pricing, profiles etc. Hence gog=steam which is exactly what they want, to be competing at that level.
Perhaps with cyberpunk they will release their optional geg component that provides user security in knowing they have an acurate non-pirated copy. I assume all the gog defenders posting here will be voraciously defending such a thing as online with modern gaming and a benefit to all of us.

Just adding that the Steam version does not have any manuals. And it runs awfully for me, with the mouse being all wrong.

Weird game this one. I like it because I know what to do and I know what to do and feel comfy with it because I played it when I was 14. Right now I'd be amazed if someone enjoyed it without any trouble.

The initial grinding is hard. Monsters are awesome. EGA is the best version. Love the music.

BTW, this game had a really caothic release history. I had it back then in a very badly translated Spanish version and in EGA, but years later I saw a VGA version distributed in abandonware sites: I guess it was developed later and the EU version was released in a rush.

Music, again, is awesome. Console fans say that the SNES version music is better, but it is just vanilla and does not have that incredible skill at fm programming that the DOS version has. The guy that did the sound in Infogrames back then was really talented.

Could be the nostalgia talking, but of the games I've played on both platforms, I distinctly remember not just the earlier SSI Gold Box games but also Leisure Suit Larry 3 and Star Control looking and sounding better on the Amiga, the first of those two in particular if the Amiga was equipped with 2 megabytes of RAM because the extra memory was used to enhance the sound.

Yeah LSL3 apparently had EGA graphics on PC so I wouldn't be surprised the Amiga version would have looked better, but then it is also possible the Amiga version just copied the PC version graphics directly, using the same restricted palette. I guess one can compare the different versions' graphics here:

But if you compare PC-originated VGA games (like Space Quest 4, Monkey Island 2, Willy Beamish, Wing Commander etc.) to their Amiga counterparts, then PC pretty much always wins because the colors were usually "downgraded" for the Amiga version, from VGA 256 colors to Amiga OCS 32 colors.

With Amiga-originated games the reverse is quite often true, ie. when the OCS graphics were ported to VGA, the VGA version still uses the same 32 simultaneous colors as the Amiga version (ie. not taking advantage of the extra colors of VGA as that would have meant having to redraw all the graphics), and possibly missing some Amiga-specific graphical effects. E.g. Lethal Weapon, while the PC VGA version looks pretty good and scrolls smoothly, it is missing some of the graphical effects from the Amiga version, like for the water.

About music and audio, that is a tricky one because most compare PC Adlib/Soundblaster music to sampled Amiga music, while I tend to compare Roland MT-32/LAPC-1 music (because I had a Roland LAPC-1, so I got the superior music on those DOS games that supported it). But if the PC version supported only Adlib (or Soundblaster) sound cards, then the Amiga version most probably does sound better. Drakkhen is probably one such game.

That is very simplistic I think. You have to compare not the device, but how the people took advantage of that device. Amiga music was a 4 tracker sample, which could be very limiting or very awesome. And Adlib/Soundblaster used the OPL2/OPL3 chips which could sound bland or could sound awesome.

All the SCI Sierra games sound gloriously in MT-32, because guys there were experts at programming that stuff. Saying that Larry 3 sounds better in Amiga is like those people saying that the Bomb the Bass track did not sound as good as the Xenon 2 version. "Mozart? Sounds much better in my Amiga"

BTW: you all know that some DOS games were also able to use .MOD or similar tracks, right? Like Pinball Illusions or Alien Incident.

A while i ago i wrote that steam treats $ and Euros as being equal: 19.99 euros or 19.99 usd which is not true cause usd = around 85 euro cents meaning 19.88 eu pays more then the US dollar does.... which is unfair for Steam to do.

Anyway regarding any form of DRM: DRM is bad extremely bad.... we dont need more DRM cause the entire internet is full with DRM already .... as for clients i hate clients to run install things thats why i buy steam games very cheap ( big sales only) if i dont know if a steam game can run without the client ( steam client got worse after its many updates it was bad but its getting even worse 2 to 3 updates a day maybe even more which is absolutely disgusting
thats why i start the client manually when i need to buy some cheap games no autorunning that awfull piece of junk 24/7 on my pc)

Increasing for those outside Europe... Guess they realized it had used the typical pricing template (what was that about them still trying to advocate flat if possible?) and switched to the one for classics. Until the price updates thread gets updated, guess someone from Russia could say whether now it's really flat priced (some recent classic releases have been) or the discounts remained.

As for the game itself, from the shots here it does strike me as looking surprisingly good for something released in 89. But not knowing anything else about it, that's all I can say.
