Fantastic Beasts And How to Slay Them.

<span class="bold">Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen</span>, the monster-hunting epic that keeps challenging you with dynamic encounters, is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 60% launch discount.

Tackling monsters shouldn't be just a roadblock in your epic adventure - it should be the very essence of it. In this massive open-world RPG every fight is its own reward thanks to the dynamic mechanics and deep customization. Train and upgrade your A.I. controlled pawns to fight alongside you or share them online with other adventurers and get rewarded for their exploits.

The 60% discount will last until June 20, 1PM UTC.

NOTE: The game comes with full GOG Galaxy support including Cloud saves, leaderboards, and achievements. Additionally, both the Pawn system and Ur Dragon work exactly as in the Steam version. pbaggers: Good grief. I knew Capcom had released an old PC port of Street Fighter about 3 or 4 years ago, and I had given up hope that they'd release something else here.

I wasn't expecting them to pull out one of their big guns out of nowhere, especially so soon after we finally get New Vegas. (Then again, Dragon's Dogma is something Capcom considered to be a commercial failure and an IP they have little faith in, even if the game itself is actually fantastic.)

Still, here's hoping we'll at least get the rare PC ports of Resident Evil 1 - 3...

Or is this a Square-Enix "We only sold 3 million copies of Tomb Raider - what a huge failure!" type reasoning?
Capcom did sell 3+M copies of Dragon's Dogma across different platforms and times.

Dunno if they're happy with tho. However considering their position of selling 10M of RE7 across it's lifespan, I believe capcom is happy with Dragon's Dogma sales. Plus now you can have a DRM free on PC which is awsm, capcom might be in luck of selling another chunk of copies here.

Stryder2931: Is there an issue with saved games on this release? This game does look interesting, and it something I am considering, but looking online, there seems to be an issue with saved games. Not sure if it was fixed, user error, or something else entirely.
I can try it later on tonight, however played it before and had no issues with saves. Do however make sure to (as with any software) install it outside of Windows folders, to something like: C:\Games. This is the number one cause of saves/settings/app not working or being saved.

I'd swear it was 12 something USD yesterday (for Euro market) and it's 13.53 today.
So either I am wrong or the exchange rate between Euro and USD changed and the price got adjusted.

Can I play this game without Gog Galaxy or friends? Will I be able to finish it or it will be more difficult?

PS. Why the save files are different between steam and gog? If I make a manual save backup why can't I swap that outside the game?

As Grargar already said, since the Euro has become stronger the exchange rate has been changed. If you live in a country that uses the Euro that means:

*) For non-regionally priced games: The games have become cheaper.

*) For regionally priced games: The price remains the same, at least in Euro. However, since the Euro is now worth more this is effectively a price increase which you will see if you switch to USD. But to compensate for that the store credits you get in return because of the fair price package should also have increased.

You can play completely off line with just the game's generated pawns. The game will be a bit more difficult as people will tend to build better, more useful pawns. But it is completely doable.

Except the fact we don't use Euro here but we are EU country so GOG (and other stores) uses it as my base currency.
