Fantastic Beasts And How to Slay Them.

<span class="bold">Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen</span>, the monster-hunting epic that keeps challenging you with dynamic encounters, is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 60% launch discount.

Tackling monsters shouldn't be just a roadblock in your epic adventure - it should be the very essence of it. In this massive open-world RPG every fight is its own reward thanks to the dynamic mechanics and deep customization. Train and upgrade your A.I. controlled pawns to fight alongside you or share them online with other adventurers and get rewarded for their exploits.

The 60% discount will last until June 20, 1PM UTC.

NOTE: The game comes with full GOG Galaxy support including Cloud saves, leaderboards, and achievements. Additionally, both the Pawn system and Ur Dragon work exactly as in the Steam version. Keep in mind, however, that the GOG Galaxy servers are separate from the Steam ones, meaning that this is a fresh start.

Watch the trailer.

You can play the game entirely with offline pawns (generated by the game). They kinda suck but it's doable.

To help with this google Pawn tips & what the various Inclinations do (pawn behavior). Some sound good but are actually horrible or at least not good for the first inclination. You don't want them running around looting shit during combat for example.

If you don't want to spend time dismissing and finding decent pawns there are mods (and probably trainers but I never checked).

Pawn Manager : www.nexusmods.com/dragonsdogma/mods/200

Choose Pawn Inclination: www.nexusmods.com/dragonsdogma/mods/122

No clue if these work with the gog version...sorry.

The fact that the online (as in other player created) pawns uses a seperate Galaxy pool is a GOOD thing. They will all start out sucky since everyone has just started playing but at least there will be people playing the game to hire from. Steam probably has very few people still playing. I have no clue since I always played with offline pawns.

Anyway...bought it for the same price on Steam (never finished it) and will now be buying it again here...it's a rough couple of weeks for my budget. For once I hope the summer sales suck.
If capcom released this game; I want Resident Evil 4 ultimate HD edition, Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6 DRM free,
Credit where credit is due, quite impressed with recent releases. I may even get this one, as it's not a duplicate for me.

Plus, capcom? and not US capcom, but Japan capcom? Nice.
This will prolly get lost in the comments here but...

Is the game any different in the technical side? Currently the Steam version still shows plenty of stutter even when VSync is enabled and can fluctuate between 120 to 55 fps. Plenty of makeshift solutions which do not work for everyone (also the game seems to lack an exclusive fullscreen option, fullscreen behaves like borderless).

I wouldn't mind buying the game again but I need to know if the exact same version or has something be done to it.

MischiefMaker: Could someone tell me the actual HD footprint of this game? My SSD space is getting tight.
Well, the offline installer files weigh in at a little over 19 GB and so does the version of the game you get when you install it via Galaxy.

Thiev: For other users' pawns - yes.

Hickory: Then I cry 'foul!'. If I were a less forgiving creature I'd demand my money back, but I will not install Galaxy.
Is this sarcasm?

How you you expect a system like this to work?
What he f....?

You guys, since the last week with 3 new Bethesda titles, rock!

I have no words and I must scream! :D :D :D

Instabuy, of course! :P

cemacar: It's really immature.
He is righ, it is really immature.
On PS3 if you wanted to have other players pawns you had to be online (meaning, logged in with your playstation account).
It is practically the same thing here, if you want to have other players pawns you need to be ONLINE that means GOG GALAXY. How do you excpect it to work?
But if you don't want to install galaxy it is your choice mate and that is totally fine, you still can play the game with pawns, but just with offline pawns that are generated by the game.

timppu: Maybe I should re-word it:

<Snip>
Oh I agree. I'd be blissfully happy if I knew 2-3 years after its Steam release every game I wanted would get it's Game of the Year (all DLC's wrapped up in a bow) release here.
Is GoG version have Berserk Armors? Anyone checked it?

YUSSSSS! I love this game. Question, how is the pawn system on GOG?

handled via Galaxy, separate pool from Steam, same functionality

Sweet. Thanks for the quick (and likely repeated) answer, Thiev!

INSTABOUGHT
repeated only twice for now ^_^

and pawn pool will be rather empty in the beginning... it's a fresh start after all :P

Hickory: Wait, what? So you need Galaxy to hire pawn? I have just bought this game from GOG for no reason?
avatar
cemacar: What is the problem? I don't get it. Steam have it's own pawn pool and GoG have it's own pool. I don't know why you are upset about this.
It's quite simple: I thought the pawn pool was run and maintained by Capcom. When you are in the game, if you successfully contribute to the Ur Dragon defeat it tells you "Communicating with Capcom servers", or if you lose connection it tells you of problems with "Capcom servers". I'm not a multiplayer person, so I am not savvy on how online games work. I just assumed that everything was run from within the game via Capcom servers. Call it naive if you must.
