This is how a new age of epic fantasy RPGs was spawned.

Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition, which marked the triumphant resurgence of epic party-based RPGs, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 60% launch discount.

Some RPG enthusiasts enjoy customizing their character and carefully picking their travelling companions based on both their personalities and combat skills. Some enjoy dark, engaging narratives with branching elements and dozens of side-quests. Others just want to hack at giant dragons and demonic hordes. Dragon Age: Origins walked the extra mile, also letting players shape their legendary Grey Warden by playing through their unique backstory. The whirlwind of wild magic, gruesome battles, complex politics, tough moral choices, and dramatic moments that ensued helped cement this epic adventure as one of the most influential ones in recent memory. And that was even before that night when Morrigan approached you with a certain offer...

Gather your party of memorable NPCs and venture against the tides of darkness in Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition, DRM-free on GOG.com.
The 60% launch discount will last until July 21, 12:59 PM UTC.

blotunga: You mean even the Collector's Edition items like Grimoire of the Frozen Wastes? That one is in no other version legally afaik.
avatar
Thiev: It contains all DLCs and all items included in Promotional Items Pack on Origin.
And to be perfectly clear, it doesn't require any third party authorization in order to get any of the content, does it? Everything is DRM free, correct?

gmx: hmm, bough it without thinking - now that you mentioned it...
downloading now 10MB/s - we will know soon (unless someone from gog answer these questions earlier...)

kokosabre: The option to log into your Bioware Acc still exist but you have all the content available right off the bat so you dont need it. Only missing content is the Collector's Edition items.
thanks for the info.

I already have it on origin but ofcourse there are problems with dlc, logging in, admin rights - before i finish instalation tortures I cant look at the game...
Man I played this game so thoroughly on my laptop years ago, on minimum details cos it was a very shitty laptop and even then i had to wait 1min+ to load saves, i'll buy it again cos GOG is the best place ever and the feels are oh so strong.

Morrigan I still love you and DA:O is the only game, no other sequels were ever made.

Correct. Logging in is an optional feature.
Quite the surprise when I saw this on the front page. I've always been interested in getting the Ultimate Edition on Steam, but for some reason it was made unavailable in my region (only the incomplete standard version was purchasable). Annoyed the hell out of me; I was willing to pay, but my money wasn't welcome.

Now it's in my library here, and DRM-free as well. Hope the rest turns up here someday.
Nice to see Dragon Age here, and I recommend the game for everyone who likes Bioware RPGs and somehow didn't played this one yet.

Excellent :)

This is one of my favourite games ever, and it's really nice to have it on GOG - with all content available without any hassle.

It is said that The Ultimate Edition does not include any pre-order bonus items or the exclusive items from Collector's Edition.

Is that included in GoG version?
Too bad I already have it, finished it and it's regionally priced, but OK I guess.

Also, WHAT THE HECK is with that autoloading of a spotify playlist! Don't do that!
I must say, damn good release gog.

I have one question though, will my (really really) old savegames (retail version, not origin) work with the drm-free version? Still haven't played the Golems of Amgarrak and Witch Hunt...

Instabuy for me! And thank you GOG for this awesome release!
Quite a few times I was very close to buy this on Steam for 75% discount or on Origin for 50% discount or more;
but I always said to myself: "It will come to GOG and then I will buy it no matter the discount!"

And this discount is also awesome!

;-)

OMG OMG OMG. I just feel like a little girl. (I dont know what that means but it sounded cool when deadpool said it).

Dragon Age Origins is one of the best RPGs I have ever played. Actually, only game that can rival it is KOTOR. You should definetly give it a try if you are into RPGs.

Why wouldn't they?
