This is how a new age of epic fantasy RPGs was spawned.

Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition, which marked the triumphant resurgence of epic party-based RPGs, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 60% launch discount.

Some RPG enthusiasts enjoy customizing their character and carefully picking their travelling companions based on both their personalities and combat skills. Some enjoy dark, engaging narratives with branching elements and dozens of side-quests. Others just want to hack at giant dragons and demonic hordes. Dragon Age: Origins walked the extra mile, also letting players shape their legendary Grey Warden by playing through their unique backstory. The whirlwind of wild magic, gruesome battles, complex politics, tough moral choices, and dramatic moments that ensued helped cement this epic adventure as one of the most influential ones in recent memory. And that was even before that night when Morrigan approached you with a certain offer...

Gather your party of memorable NPCs and venture against the tides of darkness in Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition, DRM-free on GOG.com.
The 60% launch discount will last until July 21, 12:59 PM UTC.

tinyE: 22gb?

Well then, that saves me a few bucks. :P

Shit, the 8 I need for Dead Space is going to destroy my monthly allowance as is.
Hmm so Madagascar is not so good for internet then. I have 500GB allowance and then it slows down, 250GB peak and then 250GB off peak which is like a 6 hour window.

kokosabre: I think I spent 10 euros on my retail of Ultimate Edition... EA retail games are often cheaper here than Digital ( ME trilogy for 15 euros for example)
Yeah, I spent the equivalent of €6.72 ($7.47) for a brand new retail version of that edition.

I wonder if GOG has fixed the infamous Silverite Mine equipment bug in Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening.
Damn you EA with your MP3 soundtrack. Can't be an ultimate edition without a FLAC soundtrack thrown in, in my opinion. Oh well guess I bought it for the game anyway.
I don't often buy games I already played but this one is an exception. Back then I torrented and played the game. I didn't get the DLC or expansions though. Now I can finally buy it DRM free. So I did. Sorry EA for 6 years ago.

I actually didn't expect a soundtrack included at all. =o

Wow! And I always just assumed this game had way higher system requirements - man, this should run on my archaic setup! Can't believe it.

LiefLayer: Instabought
I got the base version of this game some years ago from a steam code of my brother.
I love this game but the Awekening is still expensive on Origin (and I really don't want to spend money there)...
Now I can finally get Awekening and a DRM-free version of this great game. I bought it just few minutes ago. 8€ for such a great game is nothing for me....
I stay well clear of Origin. There are games there I would like and I just refuse to buy them. Though I don't think we will see them come here as they didn't even make it to steam. EA really want people to use origin for all their newer games.
low rated
Already have it on Steam so i'll pass. :D

blotunga: You mean even the Collector's Edition items like Grimoire of the Frozen Wastes? That one is in no other version legally afaik.
It contains all DLCs and all items included in Promotional Items Pack on Origin.

still I there are really few new ea games that I'm interested in.
Wait, we can only buy one gift copy every 24 hours? Or is there a problem at my end?

Doesn't everyone though. I'm just waiting for the day when perhaps China buys steam then decides that certain games do not meet their government's moral compass and removes them. After all steam is a subscription service, you ultimately don't own them you are just being given access to them. Given time China will own all, in one way or another :)

I'd buy Mass effect 3, even on steam (to complete the series) except they don't sell it on steam, so that won't be getting to GOG any time soon. I know there is controversy over the ending, but if I buy games in a series, I like to be able to buy the lot.

I see I'm not the only one thinking this

Also OMG Dragon Age AND Dead Space.... why does my bank card have to be empty right at this moment

Atlantico: Don't assume everyone knows what you think is a "common problem" when you're asking advice. It's clearly not a common problem with AMD GPUs.
I am sorry if I somewhat offended you.

(Also, I was asking GOG, not people, so I assumed they would know.)

Yep mine has been taking a beating lately. I'll need to ease off over the next week to make it to next pay day.
