This is how a new age of epic fantasy RPGs was spawned.

<span class="bold">Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition</span>, which marked the triumphant resurgence of epic party-based RPGs, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 60% launch discount.

Some RPG enthusiasts enjoy customizing their character and carefully picking their travelling companions based on both their personalities and combat skills. Some enjoy dark, engaging narratives with branching elements and dozens of side-quests. Others just want to hack at giant dragons and demonic hordes. Dragon Age: Origins walked the extra mile, also letting players shape their legendary Grey Warden by playing through their unique backstory. The whirlwind of wild magic, gruesome battles, complex politics, tough moral choices, and dramatic moments that ensued helped cement this epic adventure as one of the most influential ones in recent memory. And that was even before that night when Morrigan approached you with a certain offer...

Gather your party of memorable NPCs and venture against the tides of darkness in <span class="bold">Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition</span>, DRM-free on GOG.com.
The 60% launch discount will last until July 21, 12:59 PM UTC.

KneeTheCap: Illegal? Nope, they were officially released for free by Bioware themselves. But as I said before, I don't know if they're still available.

Edit. Ah, they're here http://social.bioware.com/da2/dlc_bundle/
The Collector's Edition Items are not in that bundle. Blood Dragon Armor also not.
Most importantly Grimoire of the Frozen Wastes which gives +3 attribute points when read.

mistermumbles: Interestingly, the base price for DA here is $10 less than on Steam or Origin. Hm... I'm not complaining. ;)
Same price here. O_o
The prices are so screwed up with these games.

I think I spent 10 euros on my retail of Ultimate Edition... EA retail games are often cheaper here than Digital ( ME trilogy for 15 euros for example)
OMG this and dead space???? Two games I had hoped would come here for a long time!!!! Now I can play d.a.:o's dlc without stupid drm! Thanks dudes!
Nicely done GOG, you are the best!

Atlantico: How can anyone answer this question, even if they'd like to ?

What drivers are you talking about, what hardware do you have, what GPU, what OS, etc.

I have the ultimate edition of DA:O on Origin, it works 100% fine on the latest AMD drivers, Windows 10.
There is a common problem with PhysX drivers that can be resolved by installing older version of it.
That's what i was refering to.

Elmofongo: But than again if it does at least check if all the DLC and Expansion content comes installed with the game becasue if they are installed with the base game than the EA/Bioware connect is now worthless and won't affect the game right?
Well, for retail version you only needed the bioware account to activate the DLC keys, downloads were from Origin so I assume that now you get all the content from GOG servers so you dont have to connect anywhere but wont be surprise the option to sign in Bioware account to exist for the sake of "online stats" or something.
Great release! I had hoped for soundtrack in FLAC but oh well.. at least it's the UE and no separate DLCs..

BAZ: Is DA:O-UE truely 100% drm-free?
NO connect to EA servers
NO register EA account
NO register cd-key on EA
NO 'missing' DLC which we need to download from EA servers

The steam 'UE' is missing at least a dozen dlc.
ALL of the dlc should come in the gog installer.
The Steam version is not missing a single dlc but there are problems with downloading them sometimes which you need to do manually then.
Didn't expect THIS here in any foreseeable future (despite making the wishlist entry for it way back - speaking of, may also want to mark this duplicate as completed). Expecting pricing to be all over the place though (don't know yet, seems that MaGOG updated just before these releases, so 6h to wait), so as far as I'm concerned it's as if it's still not here, but maybe someday...

And if there is content that's freely available elsewhere and not included here, as I see mentioned in the discussion so far, it needs to have at least a link on the game page. Though it should simply be included...

Don't assume everyone knows what you think is a "common problem" when you're asking advice. It's clearly not a common problem with AMD GPUs.
So, went to check the Soundtrack( which was really happy to see included in GOG release) and sadly... its incomplete according to the dragon's age wikia.

Its the Collector's edition Album and not the Official one... bummer

YES! YES! DEAR GOD, YES!!!!
Definitely grabbing this.
Instabought
I got the base version of this game some years ago from a steam code of my brother.
I love this game but the Awekening is still expensive on Origin (and I really don't want to spend money there)...
Now I can finally get Awekening and a DRM-free version of this great game. I bought it just few minutes ago. 8€ for such a great game is nothing for me....
