This is how a new age of epic fantasy RPGs was spawned.

Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition, which marked the triumphant resurgence of epic party-based RPGs, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 60% launch discount.

Some RPG enthusiasts enjoy customizing their character and carefully picking their travelling companions based on both their personalities and combat skills. Some enjoy dark, engaging narratives with branching elements and dozens of side-quests. Others just want to hack at giant dragons and demonic hordes. Dragon Age: Origins walked the extra mile, also letting players shape their legendary Grey Warden by playing through their unique backstory. The whirlwind of wild magic, gruesome battles, complex politics, tough moral choices, and dramatic moments that ensued helped cement this epic adventure as one of the most influential ones in recent memory. And that was even before that night when Morrigan approached you with a certain offer...

Gather your party of memorable NPCs and venture against the tides of darkness in Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition, DRM-free on GOG.com.
The 60% launch discount will last until July 21, 12:59 PM UTC.

tinyE: Isn't that related to mobile phones, cell phones?
avatar
JudasIscariot: Yes, it is but you can also get LTE for the house too in some countries. You have to be within its coverage area in order to get any use out of it, otherwise you get bumped down to HSPA speeds.
avatar
Thiev: But not limited to, you usually get a USB modem and can use it with normal PC / notebook machine

JudasIscariot: This ^ It's how I net installed a Linux distro when my main net was out :D
I looked it up while you were answering. The nearest LTE coverage to me is 30 miles south.

Of course there is zero cell coverage anywhere around here so anything even remotely related to that is a no go.

Wow, didn't expect this! I have it on Steam and Origin, and PS3, lol. But I'm going to buy it one more time. Even given it might come to GOG connect. I may be a chump, haha. But I really care about DRM-free.

Hopefully all the Mass Effects are to follow.

dBLOOD: Already have it on Origin, butt Fuck EA!
avatar
Thiev: I'm certain it will help us bring more EA titles here. -_-
Um, can you comment on my first reply? Would be cool to know if the gog version indeed has ALL the dlc and makes no attempts to connect to the 'EA servers'.

If it indeed has all the dlc without no drm (drm, as in online drm, registration, drm-software, etc.), then I have hope for my next comment:

If you can get all 3 of the Mass Effect games with ALL DLC, and zero drm and zero 'connect to ea servers [for ANY reason]".

I'll gladly buy them. 100% will buy them.

(I'm so sick and tired of having to connect to publishers websites just to play some of my games)
(and YES, gog has two games that have content locked behind online-drm).

Yes, I will try, as soon as I download and install it.
Oh, nm!

I already replied several times - all DLCs + Promotional Items Pack are included, logging to EA account is optional and has no impact on DLC content availability.

Thank you.

Btw, some games, AUTO-attempt to connect to online servers, does gogs version of DAO-UE, make no attempt to auto-connect?

Meaning, basically it is the users option to make the connection attemp?

edit: "cause when i first ran my steam version, I got a "windows blocked an unauthorized connection, would you like to continue to block"

I didn't think that I would ever use also EA in this sentence, but: Thank you GOG and EA!!! Dragon Age and Dead Space are now mine. I've been waiting for DA: Origins on GOG for a long time and now it's a reality.

It cannot auto-connect if you won't provide login details for the first time.
Anyway, to be on even safer side, all online options can be switched off in config tool even before the first launch.

I think you didn't understand what I ment.

Ok, if you don't alter the default options, and run the game, does it attempt to make a connection? (even before you login or however the game handles the login/connection timing/order)

Nothing was reported by our QA but then if the game works fine regardless of connection state (offline / online) they had no reason to look past that.

Wait, your wording sounds awful, are you saying you only care if the game works in an offline state, and that it don't matter what the game does if your pc is online capable?

O_o hehe

BAZ: [...]
No, I meant that offline and online states behave the same.

Looks really like the end of the world! Why do you live there? Are you fleeing from something? Police? Mafia? Imperial Stormtroopers?
