This is how a new age of epic fantasy RPGs was spawned.

Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition, which marked the triumphant resurgence of epic party-based RPGs, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 60% launch discount.

Some RPG enthusiasts enjoy customizing their character and carefully picking their travelling companions based on both their personalities and combat skills. Some enjoy dark, engaging narratives with branching elements and dozens of side-quests. Others just want to hack at giant dragons and demonic hordes. Dragon Age: Origins walked the extra mile, also letting players shape their legendary Grey Warden by playing through their unique backstory. The whirlwind of wild magic, gruesome battles, complex politics, tough moral choices, and dramatic moments that ensued helped cement this epic adventure as one of the most influential ones in recent memory. And that was even before that night when Morrigan approached you with a certain offer...

Gather your party of memorable NPCs and venture against the tides of darkness in Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition, DRM-free on GOG.com.
The 60% launch discount will last until July 21, 12:59 PM UTC.

Ahhh nice, basically the last good Bioware game(at least Origins not the rest of the pack) before they were assimilated and mutilated by EA.
Tempting if I wouldn't have it as physical disc.

The "This is how a new age of epic fantasy RPGs was spawned." is actually pretty ironic ;D

Good to see the last truly good Bioware RPG on GoG. Good work GOG team, and thanks EA... wow, I haven't said THAT in a while.
Probably the last true Bioware descent RPG with all the classic Bioware developers.

EPIC yet simple story: Check
EPIC and unforgettable companions: Check
Epic dialogues: Check
Still a tactical RPG despite being able to play it like an ARPG: Check
An expansion pack worthy of paying for: Check
Satisfying ending: Check

Also
EA starting introducing micro transactions with short ass DLC's: Double check.

I've already got this on steam. I'll wishlist it for now, and hope for it show up on Connect! That launch discount is pretty tempting though...

Didn't they like cut out some content and then tried to use it as a don't buy used "incentive" ? Like Shale I think the npc was called.
Ahh good old times when the bilking, was still kinda on it's Baby steps and I actually had hope Bioware wouldn't succumb to EA despite being bought out.

Like everyone else, my instant response was excitement :D

Engerek01: OMG OMG OMG. I just feel like a little girl. (I dont know what that means but it sounded cool when deadpool said it).
In the U.S. (and maybe other english speaking countries?) it's an expression for being super excited in a somewhat hysterical manner. Like all giddy, giggly and bubbly, as a young (think age 12 - 16?) girl would be: "OMG thats like TOTS AMAZING AHAHAAAahaaaaa."

You actually used it perfectly correctly.

Thiev: It contains all DLCs and all items included in Promotional Items Pack on Origin.

Gnostic: It is said that The Ultimate Edition does not include any pre-order bonus items or the exclusive items from Collector's Edition.

Is that included in GoG version?
I am wondering about this too :)

If it isn't included in Promotional Items Pack, then the answer is no.

BAZ: Is DA:O-UE truely 100% drm-free?
NO connect to EA servers
NO register EA account
NO register cd-key on EA
NO 'missing' DLC which we need to download from EA servers

The steam 'UE' is missing at least a dozen dlc.
ALL of the dlc should come in the gog installer.
Even my original DA:O disk back from when the game was released is DRM free. Was one of the last batch games in the era of EA offline retail singleplayer games**. Right after the Spore desaster and before they went to however it is now with online registering.

**unless you wanted the working patched version and the goodies added with printend keys in the game box. Then you had to register online... yeay... :/
Ohh actually is the Dragon Age toolkit included in the GoG Edition ?
I somehow remember it used to be a seperate download back then.
I'm over the fuckin' moon about this. If I wasn't knee-deep in The Witcher 3 right now, I'd dig into Dragon Age: Origins this very minute.

In the meantime, though, I'll buy it (because how can I not support good games coming here?) and wait for a rainy day.
Already have it on Origin, butt Fuck EA!
high rated

I'm certain it will help us bring more EA titles here. -_-
