We know them, we love them, and they’re about the get better than ever – DOOM + DOOM II, now available in one, neat pack, is out on GOG!

Developed by id Software, and originally released in 1993, DOOM pioneered and popularized the first-person shooter, setting a standard for all FPS games. The critically acclaimed sequel, DOOM II, followed in 1994. Now the definitive, newly enhanced versions of DOOM and DOOM II are available as a combined product.

Buying DOOM + DOOM II you’ll get access to a variety of content, expansion packs, as well as a series of notable improvements.

Now on GOG!

Worth noting: If you owned DOOM (1993) and/or DOOM II, you’ll receive DOOM + DOOM II for free.

UCrest: So far I see nothing new in my library. And, minus some extras mentioned on the game's GOG page.
No week without a new release and some issues coming in a bundle. What extras do you mean? All stuff listed on the store page will be included in the same version.

Is this a new competition for Bethesda products? How many releases/special editions can we make of the original Doom games? Is this now a race with Skyrim?

Edward_Carnby: So - is somebody figured out what is this ?

New release ? Some kind of update for enhanced versions ?

Nothing new in my library (own entire Doom series).
They ported the games into the KEX engine, added a bunch of QoL stuff, and added 16 new single player maps and 25 new multiplayer maps that were developed by id Software, Nightdive and MachineGames. The original .wad files and DOSBox are also included. Not sure about the "enhanced editions". I've verified this on Steam, where I own it because I previously owned the games there. I also previously owned the games here, but this version of the games isn't yet in my library.

It seems to me that the only things added to your library are the enhanced versions of Doom 1 and 2 (Enhanced Edition) if you have Final Doom and Doom II - Master Levels.

Edit.- Anyway, the upgraded versions of Doom Enhanced Edition were given away a long time ago to owners of the original Doom and Doom II. I imagine that what both the publisher and GOG want is to promote the purchase of the original games and, incidentally, to give away the enhanced versions to those who buy the original versions of the game. In short, there is no news for the owners. At least for the moment.

You are right. I was the one who was confused. Thanks for the information. A hug! :)

mk47at: If it is more expansive in Mexico as Foxhack says, there is regional pricing.

Foxhack: There's regional pricing, just set the wrong way. XD
Here is still $9,99, luckly enough

Edit: Nevermind, it changed to $10,22 :(

00063: DX12 this a joke, right?
It uses Vulkan, like all of NightDive's previous releases.

Yeah - I know.
I own enhanced versions for a long time in my library.
They are still the same. No updates whatsoever.

This compilation listed some mods like sigil & some aditional languages.
So it must be a new version (at least for languages updates).
But for now - can't see nothing new.

Anybody here purchased this release ?
What entries do you have in library after purchase ?

edit.
Sorry friend. My bad.
Just remembered enhanced versions was unity based not kex ...

Hey hey, dropping in to let you know that we're aware of an existing issue with autoredeem for owners of the previous versions. Currently working on a fix! In the meantime you can try refreshing your library and see if it helps:

Ok so this appear when i tried to buy this pack (Which i will not do) :

"Please note that DOOM (1993) AND DOOM II is included in DOOM + DOOM II but you already own this item, and will not receive another copy when you buy this pack."

So...

My guess is that if you owned already the titles nothing will change in your library. It is just a change in how the products are sold.

Last year if you owned Doom or Doom II you were updated with free copies of the new enhanced editions, and the DOS versions were untouched.
Where's achievement and online multiplayer support? I owned the originals, but when I start the Enhanced version of either, I see neither achievements nor online multiplayer (there's only local multiplayer).

Nope, it'll be a visible as a separate product in your library!
