And look what Nightdive did with Blade Runner: Enhanced! Glad I didn't jumped on that wagon either and able to actually learn from my mistakes...
StingingVelvet: I think their decisions were based on trying to make it a more speedy action game, even though it wasn't designed for that. Very reactionary to the internet complaints, like most companies sadly. Deus Ex HR's Director's Cut did the same, yanking the gold filter and shoving the DLC in like a lot of complainers wanted, never mind that the game wasn't designed for either.
Seems so (which basically is dumbifying for the new COD generation with "low-attention span"), though only thing this proves is that they're probably too inexperienced to really understand the source material they were handed and changed too much without taking into consideration the whole essence of the game. What really made the game great in the first place.
That's the problem with listening to only the minority - you'll most likely end up ruining the whole experience for the majority, which can be applied to many things in "entertainment".
And/or they really didn't care and just wanted a new and quick cash-cow...
Petroglyph is one of few that I can think of that really understood what they had and made a good remaster.
