Studying the anatomy of space demons.

Doom 3: BFG Edition is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 75% launch discount.
Back to reclaim its FPS throne, Doom 3 adds a strong dose of claustrophobic horror into the series' timeless cocktail of explosive action, horrific enemies, and ultra-violent massacre.

The BFG Edition is the game's remastered version, containing DOOM, DOOM II, DOOM 3, and DOOM 3: Resurrection of Evil, as well as The Lost Mission.

Feeling nostalgic or just awfully trigger-happy? Check out our Bethesda shooters sale.
The 75% discount will last until August 28, 1 PM UTC.
Whilst this is a reasonably good release (even though I have the hard copies for decades now), I would like to ask about the BFG editon specifically.

From what I am led to believe this remaster version was very "consolified" as apposed to the Doom 3 separate releases. Can someone confirm this?
Can we get the Doom3 and Expansion separate releases aside from this BFG release? If not will just stick with my hard copies.
Well, I was gonna play Urban Chaos or Painkiller, but now...

Much thanks again gog and Bethesda.

Nice that Bethesda is continuing to release the back catalogue here on GOG. This is a serviceable enough game, especially at the sale price, and a welcome addition.

GOG.com: snip
Two Questions:
1) Why is this one region locked for Germans?
2) Does it still work on XP or did you insert some Galaxy API again?
I'm so glad i waited. As soon as i get home this too will be mine.
I heard the BFG edition had way higher specs than the original D3. Can anyone confirm this?

Can we have the original, instead of this butchered remake ?

True. It has somewhat higher specs. The BFG edition's engine has some parts of the Rage engine thrown in.

well that kills that. I'll keep my disc version of D3 for now.
This version of Doom 3 shouldn't be regionally-locked in Germany, as it had modifications on the Resurrection of Evil expansion to ensure a German release.

GOG.com: (........)
Doom 3 BFG is legal in Germany (the whole game was adapted so that it can be legally sold in Germany) - its not prohibited! So why did you regionally lock it gog?

Otherwise very happy about the release and will get it right away. Just love the horror in Doom 3.

Good work gog but again, you need to recheck the german regional lock which makes no sense since the game is allowed for sale in Germany.

Edit: Also as other said. Please provide the original version of Doom 3 too.

Yes, but do you honestly expect a new release without some kind of GOG-up?
Can we please get the original Doom 3? To be blunt: the BFG edition is garbage that I wouldn't get even for free.

Other have already said it but there shouldn't be a region lock on this game as the game is widely available uncut/unchanged in German stores and for German Steam customers.
