A true RPG design achievement!

Divinity: Original Sin, the epic-scaled RPG from Larian Studios, very modern but also true to the best traditions of computer role playing games design with its isometric view, story-driven gameplay, and top-notch turn-based combat mechanics, is available for Windows and Mac OS X, DRM-Free on GOG.com! You can also enrich your experience with the Source Hunter DLC, that comes with two unique in-game items, a digital artbook, design documents and a full original soundtrack.

Divinity: Original Sin is the old-school role-playing title you've been dreaming about. If you were ever imagining how the legendary classics like Baldur's Gate would look and feel like, were they developed today, this is your answer! Larian Studios managed to make good on all of their promises of classic gameplay, extensive world, gripping storyline, and flexible system paired with high production value of contemporary double-A titles. With up to a hundred hours of playtime needed to beat the game with all of its branching stories and tons of optional quests the game can prove to be everything you want it to be, and more! It also takes what's best after the modern games: rich and vivid 3D graphics, an extensive item crafting system, and a finely balanced multi-player mode. A perfect mix of classic and new RPG design, if we ever saw one.

Set out to explore the fantastic colorful realm created by Larian Studios, and make a new home for yourself in the vibrant world of Divinity: Original Sin (or even grab some extra Source Hunter DLC gear), on GOG.com. The price of the game varies from region to region, but don't be alarmed! Following the GOG.com tradition we're offering a Fair Price Package with this title, so everyone who is adversely affected by the pricing plan will be compensated with gift-codes (you will find yours in your order confirmation email).

NOTE:
The version of the game offered here comes with the full single-player campaign, but currently supports only LAN/DirectIP multiplayer modes, with on-line multiplayer features coming as a later update, powered by GOG Galaxy, our DRM-Free online gaming platform. Thank you for your patience!

tarasis: You too should come to near Hamburg. Its hot, muggy and pissing it down with rain. (never mind thunder and lightning). Horrible afternoon.
I walked through some of the rain. It's not that bad. :-)

nicely put, I wholeheartedly agree.
congrats

RayRay13000: I'd probably pick this up, but I haven't gotten around to playing the other Divinity games.

BillyMaysFan59: Nice release, although I'll have to play through the classic Divinity games first.
From what I've seen (I completed Divine Divinity and Divinity 2 DC, and I played a little of Beyond Divinity), the Divinity games have pretty loose connections to each other. It's more like playing different games set in the same universe than a series with an ongoing story. Not like Witcher 1-3 or Baldur's Gate 1 & 2, more like Baldur's Gate to Pool of Radiance (that is two completely different games set in D&D's Forgotten Realms setting). Maybe you will enjoy a Forgotten Realms game more if you already know about Elminster or the drow, and maybe you'll get more kicks out of a Divinity game if you're familiar with Zandalor and imps, but I think that's about it and in the end it doesn't really matter. You don't need to play any of the games in order, they're pretty much standalone with occasional but not really significant references, and there's no need to play them in order.

HypersomniacLive: A thunderstorm is not out of the question, still early enough to get one of those as has happened multiple times during June. :-)

Out of curiosity, how hot is it in Hamburg?
Not that hot. The day was humid but temperatures were only in the mid twenties. It felt hotter though. And now it's raining and getting even cooler.

gandalf.nho: That topic was visible in the news list for a good time and the answer topic later too

And regarding pre-orders, other games had pre-orders too, one is visible in the recent news (Gods will be Watching)

synfresh: That's the point, it shouldn't be in a topic, there should be the D:OS graphic banner with the date in the banner. Take to the level of the average web user, not the average gog user.

Regarding pre-orders, you are correct there but it seems to be few and far between with titles?
I agree. I keep up with what's going on here, but GOG is not doing a very good job of advertising coming releases for the average person landing on the site. They need to make that clearly visible. The "new and coming" tab isn't hardly useful for coming titles either. The only ones usually listed there are titles already in the catalog.
Is the 36,99€ some special price because it was just released or it will stay like that? I don't really care because I'm a backer of D:OS so I already have it, but I'm just curious, since it's 36,99€ here and 39,99€ at STEAM.

it's 39,99 here.

Leroux: snip
Thanks.

I'm just thinking about playing the classics first (at least the original Divine Divinity) so I can experience what they're like before moving on to the fancy, modern-ized reboot. :P

JohnnyDollar: Was "Divinity: Original Sin" in the title of the news? The average customer landing on the site needs to see that.
No, because was a news when they announced regional pricing and cited the three first games with that (Age of Wonders III, The Witcher III and Divinity: Original Sin). Considering the reaction of the users, I guess very few of GOG's users don't read that news
Must buy next payday! I'm glad I held out and didn't buy this on smelly Steam :) However, I cannot say the same for Carmageddon reincarnation, which I'm going to buy again thanks to no impulse control. Great release :)

Edit; Hey, my old username is fixed, huzzah!

They didn't name the games either, the best I recall. They just said 3 AAA games, I think. I remember everyone trying to figure out which ones they were.

That's not satisfactory imo.

Edit: As far as the reaction to that news goes, the reaction was large, but I'm hesitant to assume that very few users don't read the news based on that reaction, because I don't know how many users there actually are. And that's just members that have accounts here. That's not taking into account visitors to the site.

My wife's little Acer netbook can run this, albeit at the lowest settings.

Its supposed to be about 26 outside. It reminds me of Florida in terms of its hot but raining at the same time.
So if I buy this, how much money in gift codes will I get?

Sucks that I have to pay in euro even though we've voted against it. Even crowns (our type of cash) would be better.
