As much as I loved this game on Wii, i'm not paying more than it originally cost for a remake.

Breja: I don't think I even know what that means. But then the whole concept of "relating" to fictional characters and how it's perceived by people has in recent years completely escaped my fragile grasp on reality.

00063: It means that i never really liked Mickey mouse design, always thought it was too goofy.
That may be the case if you are just watching animations and visiting Disneyland.

What you really should do is to read the classic Mickey Mouse comics. Mickey is a very witty crime solver in many of those.

I would recommend reading Floyd Gottfredson's stories.
"Editor-in-Grief" is one of the best comic stories I have ever read. It has some ridiculously funny situations, it has some politically incorrect stuff like violence and Mickey drugging the antagonist to gain information, but it also has some very serious topics like corruption and the power of media as important elements of the story.

Paul Murry is worth checking out too.
He was the one who invented Goofy's... eh... goofy style of holding his hand in front of his mouth. In his stories Mickey is usually wearing a shirt and long pants, so Mickey is not... eh... goofy... if that makes sense.

Romano Scarpa's work is a good choice as well, although Italian Disney comics have a completely different feeling, not necessarily better or worse, but different.

Spongebob - The Cosmic Shake from the same developer/publisher has full voice acting. In Disney Epic Mickey Rebrushed, only the intro has voice acting. It's even more expensive. What a bad deal.

"But it's not overpriced, it's VINTAGE!"
Silliness aside, I am gonna wait for a DEEP discount as well.

Musings: buying some(key word) games from certain devs/pubs on GOG has become a joke over the years. Much higher release prices and smaller discounts has become more and more the norm, and those of us who prefer DRM free get played the fool while steam/epic only users get the same games for a fraction of the price.

Yes, paying some DRM free premium should be expected and many accept such, but this sort of thing is INSANE :\

to add some context to this in case gog [or disney or whoever] are watching. [i doubt they are, but it's the thought that counts]:

i'm PERFECTLY OK with paying the drm-free tax on indies.

indies bring new life to the hobby and often go out on a limb and invent new things and at this point, just generally have my attention over mainstream releases.

mainstream releases, by turn are [often] bland, uninspiring games-by-committee. consequently, the mainstream publishers often think they can just foist the drm-free tax on players and hope for the best. but the thing is:

i have 0 sympathy for these entities. and no time for them and definitely no money for them also. they're swimming in enough money and don't do enough for their workforce or for their audience. it's all shareholder money or bust and nothing else matters.

so, i'm perfectly ok with buying games like caves of lore here [which was more expensive than on steam] and other indie games that are in the same boat, but i will almost never buy a commercially large game here unless it's at a steep discount. i have learned - over time - that those big entities aren't interested in their customers and will not pour that drm-free tax money into putting up [very many] drm-free games. [unless it's a third-run/fourth-run game where they can get more money.]

this game is a rare exception - it came here about the same day it released on steam and other platforms, but that doesn't automatically give it a pass. [nor does it warrant, in my eyes such a steep price.]

these big entities can do better.

they just choose not to.

Very well said.
