GOG Edition includes: the base game, Paths to Madness DLC, and Deluxe Edition content

wolfsite: Looks really interesting, plus if I read the description right it has exclusive gear to GOG.....
The gear is not exclusive to GOG. It is exactly the same description, word for word, as steam's deluxe edition.

As listed in the OP, "GOG Edition" simply means "the base game, Paths to Madness DLC, and Deluxe Edition content".

If I were to guess, there's probably something missing from the GOG edition, given that it costs $10 less than on steam, but I wouldn't know what.

I believe that the Deluxe edition content does not include the DLC Path of Madness. It is hard to be sure in the Steam page, but looking into the Deluxe edition in a different store like Fanatical (assuming it offers a Steam Key) It does not include it.

It contains the launcher.

It doesn't.

GOG Edition = base game + Paths to Madness DLC + Deluxe Edition content

Still, the GOG edition costs $10 less than steam's Deluxe Edition + DLC. Why?

A better deal

EDIT: Apparently the GOG Edition also adds Wallpapers and the soundtrack. The Soundtrack is also sold as a DLC on Steam

I've taken a look on how this game is sold on Steam and I see that only additional content, is DLC Path to Madness (sold separately) and Deluxe Edition (separate from standard one.

Seems like GOG version is overall cheaper, but at the same time you can't buy the base game only (or only base game + DLC, without that "Deluxe content").

On the one hand - it's cool that we have all possible stuff in cheaper offer, on the other - I admit that I'm personally (in most cases) aiming into base game + all (vital) DLC, so it may be a bit disappointing that we have to buy deluxe edition.

It's good to see that no game modes or additional content were cut off - definitely something I appreciate and I want to see on GOG as often as possible.

THe current offer is quite cool, buuut I admit that I enjoyed Disciples 1-2 campaigns and really wish to learn how the story was developed further (after finishing Gallean's return I feel like I'm on the incredibly long cliffhanger).. On the other hand - I have difficulties with forcing myself to play in Disciples 3.(yes, it's on Steam only, but more importantly - I just didn't like it too much, when I tried for the first time).
Having read a bit about the game, my guess --- a complete guess --- is that it's called GOG edition because online multiplayer is possible only against other GOG gamers, i.e. not cross-platform. Again, a complete guess.

mqstout: What makes it "GOG edition"? That's usually bad press for "we cut everything out".
Same here! I automatically assumed "GOG Edition" is PR speak for "Gimped Edition with Missing Content," as has been the situation in many previous "GOG Editions" for many different games, even if they had slightly different wording than that.

As for this game: I would like the ability to play as a non-woke-looking & acting protagonist, just like I could in Disciples II. But it seems that is not possible in this game.

Also, no Achievements means GOG customers are being treated like second class citizens, so I'd never buy it for that reason either.

Very disappointed to see that kind of crap from Kalypso, who are usually very good at giving GOG customers equal treatment with Achievements. I've bought a lot of Kalypso games on GOG, but if they make leaving out Achievements on their GOG versions into a habit, then I shall not be buying further Kalypso on GOG nor anywhere else either.

allope: When they said "GOG Edition" I thought that meant "no multiplayer"...hahah
Genuinely surprised that this isn't the case. It was my first thought too.
The release date is missing from the store page, GOG.
A new CRPG!? Thanks, GoG we can never have too many CRPGs!

EDIT: Apparently I read: “turn-based,” and immediately jumped the gun, as this is an RTS, not a CRPG, I suppose I'm starving for a new CRPG…

Keep the releases coming gog.
I'll buy them eventually, when i consider the price fair, despite the lack of achievements, wich i care nothing about.
Seeing 'GOG edition' game me flashbacks of Armello. What an infuriating experience that was, however I'm glad it's not the case here. Great release!

You mean TBS right? There's nothing real-time about this.

Actually I did like the look of the main Character warrior wise and I don't remember any "woke" parts (doesn't mean they are not there, been some time)
Also I'm too old of a gamer to understand why Achievements have any kind of relevance lol but to each his own.
