Blizzard Entertainment and GOG.COM have teamed up to rerelease select classic Blizzard games, beginning with Diablo®, Blizzard’s legendary 1996 action role-playing game that introduced players to the harsh—and deeply rewarding—world of Sanctuary.

The original Diablo® is available now via digital distribution for the first time ever on GOG.COM. Players looking for the authentic Diablo experience can play the game as it was in 1996, with period-appropriate 20 FPS SVGA graphics, and the ability to matchmake through the classic version of Blizzard’s Battle.net® online-gaming service.

Blizzard and GOG.COM have collaborated on an updated version of the game, which includes out-of-the-box Windows 10 compatibility, and a host of bug fixes. Players can choose either version of the game from a launcher.
Good to see a trailer made public on YouTube and not be a unlisted video as it has been the past few months.

Barry_Woodward: Diablo is now the 121st bestselling game of all time on GOG!

https://www.gog.com/games?sort=bestselling&page=3

blotunga: Diablo sales seemed to slow down, so probably they could bring it here next week/next month.

Barry_Woodward: Sales of Diablo may have slowed down somewhat from the peaks of when it first released, but it still is consistently topping the daily bestselling list, even with a number of games on sale and new releases out there. The operative words in your sentence are "seemed to". Keep in mind as it continues to climb up the all time bestselling list, each game it passes now has sold an insane amount and the gulf between each entry as far as copies sold may be vast. So when it leap frogs only one or two games at a time on the list instead of the fifteen or more it was doing before, that doesn't necessarily mean sales have significantly slowed. Diablo: "Stay awhile and listen... to the ka-ching of money flowing in."
Now it's 115th seven days after release. We can expect to reach top 100 soon. Push it to the limit!
I've been wanting to replay this game for years and my laptop does not have an optical drive so I had to download it. Glad I found this site to download Diablo.
It is nice to be able to puachse one of the truly classics games again.
Hell, Diablo himself had a cameo in "Wreck It Ralph".

Cheap and fairly reliable external USB-connected DVD drives are very much a thing still, you know.

gog2002x: Is it the retail version or from Blizzard site? I still got the CDs (3 sets in fact, 1 with play disc broken, 1 too scratched up to install the music file and last is still good..I think).

And did yoou have to install patch from battle.net?

I'm thinking of installing it again, so long as I can play it w/o having the CD in the drive.

Grargar: As long as you have your serial key intact, you can download and run the game's client (or clients if you also have the expansion) from the link below. It should download the installer's files. Run the installer and it should ask for a username and a serial key. Once you input them and the game is installed, you can then run it without the need to touch your CDs ever again.

Link: https://us.battle.net/account/download/
Thanks for the download link, I'll have to check it out this weekend.

Although. What You should do is, make it compatible with Blizzards Battlenet Server, that way I can Play My Multiplayer Games with other people.
We need Diablo 2 here now.

All you have to do is play the classic version. If you get the error message just reconnect to battle.net and it will let you play. I've been playing for the past 3 hours on bnet.

Is it DRM-free on Blizzards storefront? Because if it isn't, we do indeed need it here, no strings attached.
low rated
Just Diablo??
Where is Diablo 2,3 Stracraft 2, Warcraft 3 with expansion???

Really disappointing until i see this ones and i don't plan waiting forever.
Diablo is nice but i never bother to play it, it was old even when i played diablo2...
Just because it was good start for franchise doesn't meant i will waste money and my time on it. Diablo 2 is barrely acceptable by today standards...

GOG have HUGE potential as game distribution platform but they must push much harder if they wanna be successful.

GOG is right platform for game distribution.

They should add their own servers for Multiplayer ( with unified API, for example for emulating something like GameSpy )

Then whole platform start to have more value and grip.
