Blizzard Entertainment and GOG.COM have teamed up to rerelease select classic Blizzard games, beginning with Diablo®, Blizzard’s legendary 1996 action role-playing game that introduced players to the harsh—and deeply rewarding—world of Sanctuary.

The original Diablo® is available now via digital distribution for the first time ever on GOG.COM. Players looking for the authentic Diablo experience can play the game as it was in 1996, with period-appropriate 20 FPS SVGA graphics, and the ability to matchmake through the classic version of Blizzard’s Battle.net® online-gaming service.

Blizzard and GOG.COM have collaborated on an updated version of the game, which includes out-of-the-box Windows 10 compatibility, and a host of bug fixes. Players can choose either version of the game from a launcher.

And some games were removed only to be added again later (for example Fallout 1 and 2). But I expect Diablo to reach top 100 very soon. I give it a year to reach top 25 :)

Nah it's gonna be within 1-2 months tops. Already reached #139 on page 3 and only 4 days since release. Scary.

Yeah it got to the very bottom of page 3 last time I checked (maybe a few hours ago?) and now it's jumped 5 spaces.
Thank you so much for releasing this game here GOG and Activision Blizzard. I've been waiting for this day for such a long time.

Someone please help me, I'm addicted. Just like in the past. This is my second run and I can assure you, that it won't be the last one.

P.S. Bought Diablo II and Diablo II: Lord of Destruction from them as a thank you thingy. Offline installers with keys and that's it, so as close to DRM free as it gets.

DreamedArtist: Single player has no nightmare of hell mode. Multiplayer allows for that and the expansion if I recall. you can look it up and it seems that is the case. what we got was the original without anything cut out of the single player story and plus we can do multiplayer so win win for us.

and the expansion is a very touchy subject. Developed by Synergistic Software, a Sierra division, and published by Sierra On-Lineeven. I personally don't consider them official at all, even the Starcraft ones.

Robette: Yea, but in some forum conversation someone mentioned how Sierra was bought by another company which then went under and was bought by Activision respectively, so Activision might even hold the rights to Hellfire. Maybe Nightdive gets to buy it. :D
Activision owns Blizzard brother

I still own my cd copy of D2 with expansion and Warcraft 3 set and StarCraft set. when applied with the latest EXE patch from blizzard before they went online updater for them, they all work Perfect on high end 2019 hardware with no issues even to 4k resolution or above.

PC gamer did an article on this and said that we are slated to get the Warcraft 1,2 games here so I am interested to see if we get the battle.net edition of 2.

Later on we should be getting D2 and StarCraft and Warcraft 3. once that happens I can retire my disc set and give it to someone for free.

I suspect that legal problems are why Hellfire is not included. It was published by a third party, and was never really an official expansion anyway. Think of it like one of the third party Duke Nukem expansions (DUke it out in DC, etc). They got permission from Blizzard (probably for a fee and a slice of the profits ) to put it out.
I suspect that Warcraft 1 and 2 are on their way. Should be simple since both were originally DOS games..though a Windows version of 2 was released.
Nice!

But sadly i guess i will have to wait until the end of the month T_T
MY PRECIOUS <3

Grargar: Maybe the rights to Hellfire are all well and fine and Blizzard just doesn't want to be associated with a product they didn't develop.
Diablo Immortal says hello.
