Blizzard Entertainment and GOG.COM have teamed up to rerelease select classic Blizzard games, beginning with Diablo®, Blizzard’s legendary 1996 action role-playing game that introduced players to the harsh—and deeply rewarding—world of Sanctuary.

The original Diablo® is available now via digital distribution for the first time ever on GOG.COM. Players looking for the authentic Diablo experience can play the game as it was in 1996, with period-appropriate 20 FPS SVGA graphics, and the ability to matchmake through the classic version of Blizzard’s Battle.net® online-gaming service.

Blizzard and GOG.COM have collaborated on an updated version of the game, which includes out-of-the-box Windows 10 compatibility, and a host of bug fixes. Players can choose either version of the game from a launcher.
Wow, I never thought they'd actually manage to put it on here. Crazy!

dadahl: I'd pay for a drm-free version.

Dchillin: So are we maaaayyyyybbee going to get Diablo 2 and Starcraft??

LootHunter: I think there is a chance for Diablo 2, but with StarCraft - it makes no sense. The game is free on Battle.net.
No. Both Diablo II and Starcraft are currently available directly from Blizzard.

But Diablo II is not free.

Matruchus: Hellfire is not coming to gog. Blizzard confirmed that for now. The expansions was not owned by Blizzard but by Sierra.
Although Sierra and Blizzard are both Activision now so that shouldn't be the problem. It's just abandoned.

HiPhish: I share your sentiment, GOG is like a dumping ground for AAA companies where they can unload their old stuff they don't play on remastering.

As for Starcraft, get this: when I re-installed the game from my CD it was downloading a several GB large update. As it turned out, it was downloaded all the content of the remaster, and when you buy the remaster all it does is just unlock that content. Is it too much to ask for in this day and age to just leave the classic games alone?
Ouch, I didn't even know that now Blizzard is almost "forcing" to install this content with original Starcraft (by adding it to update/patch). That's just rude.

Seems that only way to play in original version without additional junk is to not update the game (and play via GameRanger in MP).

I went looking for a mod or patch that would help with making Diablo: Hellfire less buggy and more QOL without straying far from vanilla Hellfire. You will still need the actual expansion. You will need both of the Hellfire 100-102 and 102A5 zip files, with the latter overwriting the former as needed.
