Blizzard Entertainment and GOG.COM have teamed up to rerelease select classic Blizzard games, beginning with Diablo®, Blizzard’s legendary 1996 action role-playing game that introduced players to the harsh—and deeply rewarding—world of Sanctuary.

The original Diablo® is available now via digital distribution for the first time ever on GOG.COM. Players looking for the authentic Diablo experience can play the game as it was in 1996, with period-appropriate 20 FPS SVGA graphics, and the ability to matchmake through the classic version of Blizzard’s Battle.net® online-gaming service.

Blizzard and GOG.COM have collaborated on an updated version of the game, which includes out-of-the-box Windows 10 compatibility, and a host of bug fixes. Players can choose either version of the game from a launcher.

tinyE: Why doesn't GOG release any more good old games, just more of this new indie crap!

lukaszthegreat: its hard to get the licences. GOG would love to release all of those classics but if the right holders don't allow nothing can be done.

This is excellent. I have so many great memories of this and it's wonderful music.
It is a shame, that there will be no Hellfire or Diablo II.
low rated
I have it on CD also I have Diablo II battle chest on Disc as well. So Meh, Would be a good backup to have if anything happened to the disc bought the discs brand new for only $7.99, So don't know why you want around AUD $14 for the same thing.

If somebody has time, could you see what page number Diablo is on under the "Bestselling (All Time)" arrangment of the catalog?
I own this game already on disk.. at least 2 copies.. one I bought at a thrift store...

Did I buy this yet again?

YES!!!

Having it DRM free and not having to hunt for a CD and having it installed on my computer.

YES..

As one of the first posters said, "This is an example of printing money"... I agree.

They got my money!!!

I bet GOG is going to sell the hell out of a 20+year old game and give some extra money to Blizzard.

Hopefully they follow it up with Diablo II

It's on page 13, going towards 12.

You can get those totally free and legally from Blizzard itself:

Diablo use to be one of my favorite games. I just started it up. I'm going to have a great time talking to the npcs. Ah nosalgia.

I'm praying it is the complete set including the expansions.

amok: you mean it is not legit?
No, meaning it will sell a lot of copies because the game is so popular.
Somebody pinch me and tell me it's not an early April's fool joke?
I thought it would be a cold day in hell before Blizzard will release anything here.
