Blizzard Entertainment and GOG.COM have teamed up to rerelease select classic Blizzard games, beginning with Diablo®, Blizzard’s legendary 1996 action role-playing game that introduced players to the harsh—and deeply rewarding—world of Sanctuary.

The original Diablo® is available now via digital distribution for the first time ever on GOG.COM. Players looking for the authentic Diablo experience can play the game as it was in 1996, with period-appropriate 20 FPS SVGA graphics, and the ability to matchmake through the classic version of Blizzard’s Battle.net® online-gaming service.

Blizzard and GOG.COM have collaborated on an updated version of the game, which includes out-of-the-box Windows 10 compatibility, and a host of bug fixes. Players can choose either version of the game from a launcher.

"GOG's version comes with a few goodies, including FLAC and MP3 versions of the original soundtrack (yes) and a high-res scan of the original manual (yes). Enjoy a few of its pages in this gallery."
It's a mistake. There is no soundtrack among the extras.

Nope, not snowing in hell. And yet, here's the Devil that stole all those countless hours I should have been working on my thesis back in the day.

And with no price hike in my region, hopefully no region gets one.

So all in all, a most unexpected and very welcome release. Well done GOG on getting both this highly desired title here and Blizzard Entertainment onboard for future releases of other classics of theirs, well done GOG.

This is a great release :)

I am not in to rpg, but i bought this game just to support gog.

I didn't read the email yet, but yes, between reading the thread title and the actual post, I was certain GOG had found a long-forgotten game with the same name from some one-man team.

Sure, it's Windows-only. But dammit, it's a classic Blizzard title. On GOG. I can barely contain the screams of joy.

I need to breathe.
