Blizzard Entertainment and GOG.COM have teamed up to rerelease select classic Blizzard games, beginning with Diablo®, Blizzard’s legendary 1996 action role-playing game that introduced players to the harsh—and deeply rewarding—world of Sanctuary.

The original Diablo® is available now via digital distribution for the first time ever on GOG.COM. Players looking for the authentic Diablo experience can play the game as it was in 1996, with period-appropriate 20 FPS SVGA graphics, and the ability to matchmake through the classic version of Blizzard’s Battle.net® online-gaming service.

Blizzard and GOG.COM have collaborated on an updated version of the game, which includes out-of-the-box Windows 10 compatibility, and a host of bug fixes. Players can choose either version of the game from a launcher.

Wow, it really has got new traction now. It will be interesting to see if Diablo and the Warcrafts are going to lock horns here eventually.

I really want to be mad at Blizz for just throwing such a masterpiece up on a third party site for 15 bucks, but I just can't be mad about being able to relive my childhood.

Though to be fair I've had a bootleg disc from eBay for the past like five years lol

Yeah, I read a lot of posts on the Blizzard news site as well about it. My thoughts: better a masterpiece on the 3th party website then no masterpiece at all. Although I'm already a main GOG user and I avoid Steam like the plague. GOG treats masterpieces like they should be treated. Welcome to GOG btw! :)

Up to #57 now, and there's a bunch of wing commanders coming up which I imagine are clustered fairly close together in number of sales, so we might be heading into the top 50 in relatively short order.

GOG is a pretty good service, learn to use multiple services. The price is fair criticism imo, if you have patience you can wait for a sale.

Yeah it was pretty outlandish seeing that Diablo banner on the front page. Definitely a moment of shock for me.

Also I think Diablo is in like the #52 spot nor or so?

Exactly one month since Diablo GOG release, currently holding #51 place of GOG all-time best selling games and climbing. Just amazing! Hopefully it will serve as a convincing argument to bring Diablo 2 here.
