Blizzard Entertainment and GOG.COM have teamed up to rerelease select classic Blizzard games, beginning with Diablo®, Blizzard’s legendary 1996 action role-playing game that introduced players to the harsh—and deeply rewarding—world of Sanctuary.

The original Diablo® is available now via digital distribution for the first time ever on GOG.COM. Players looking for the authentic Diablo experience can play the game as it was in 1996, with period-appropriate 20 FPS SVGA graphics, and the ability to matchmake through the classic version of Blizzard’s Battle.net® online-gaming service.

Blizzard and GOG.COM have collaborated on an updated version of the game, which includes out-of-the-box Windows 10 compatibility, and a host of bug fixes. Players can choose either version of the game from a launcher.

I did not see this coming!

It is time to return to that wonderful and claustrophobic feeling of gothic horror that only this game in the series has. And nevermind Hellfire, it was always subpar.

I remember seeing hints that this game was coming on the colonization screenshots....which was a while ago. Ha. So happy that this is finally here. Thank you, gog and blizzard!

elcook: It's the base game, without the expansion. We have no information about Hellfire at this time.
Please look into adding hellfire expansion , its a excellent addition only problem was it broke the multiplayer with battlenet

I never expected that! I had spent part of the morning upvoting things on the GOG Community Wishlist too (and feeling saddened that some games didn’t have many votes).

GOG is my store of choice, so I always love seeing games appear there. And this boosts Blizzard in my estimation too. A win all round.

Seriously impressive work. I wonder if could make my original Hellfire cd work with this....

Thank you very much GOG. I own 2 physical copies of this from back in the day but i will buy this just to show my appreciation and support.
