I actually bought this one, it's a welcome change of pace. Also, I had the chance to play some of these yesterday and I'm actually quite happy with my purchases, thus far.

First of all, I really enjoyed Treasure Hunter Claire. I spent an hour with it, which had me grinding for a bit in the western forest. I'm thinking about reinstalling the game without the unrated patch to see if it only removes the main adult scenes. I don't mind the ecchi stuff, old school anime boob grabbing and her standoffish nature to perverts who try to have their way with her. But the actual H kinda ruins it for me. I like sexy RPG's not straight up H during the battle scenes, that honestly becomes silly because the battle mechanics are taken seriously. But Claire has a ton of charm, really nice music and a lot to explore. I'd heard good things about it, but never got the chance to play it before now.

Summer Memories is unique in the fact that it has a click on the character to enter the room interface. The art is presented in much different style somewhat. Also, there was one scene in the thing I found kind of hot - this is rare. I've played numerous amounts of these things, but very rarely do they turn me on. So I guess that's a plus? Anyway not a bad game over all.

The next one was Ideology In Friction or whatever it's called. This one actually had some money put into it, I was a bit surprised at the quality of the CG's. Still some rough edges here and there, but they actually licensed some vocal music for the game as well. It definitely has a story, I haven't seen one H-Scene yet, but I'm in the prologue. I like how Glacier explains how she met everyone in the Knight's Guild and the role they play in the story. For example, one of the characters saved her from being nearly killed by bullies who didn't see her fit to live because she was an elf girl. This young man basically beat the shit out of the bullies and said to one of them that he was going to kill them if they ever came back. They actually show the CG's for this scene too. You can see where the budget comes in, but I'm honestly happy with it as well.

I'd say I like everything so far except Summer Memories. There's not really much gameplay and I was told there would be a lot of minigames. Sure, it sparked a degree of arousal, but I was hoping it would do more than that, like the others which either had an interesting story or they were fun to play.

I have no idea where GOG is getting these titles from, because aside from Claire, I'd never really heard of some of these before and used to buy Kagura from MangaGamer. I'm waiting on Evening Starter and the one I like to call Metal Gear Succubus, because it's actually a stealth game (Succubus Farm) and they take that part seriously. I'd also like to see Alternate DiMansion Diary here too, because that's the first Kagura I finished and they really played up the "sexy horror mansion" aesthetic.

I'll check out some of these others later, but 2/3 ain't bad.

Sexy horror mansion?! That sounds great!
Tasteful artwork on the homepage, along with tasteful artwork on the game's own page. Description that suggests there's some gameplay beyond the porn elements. Unsure if all the sexual content in the game is consensual, but a quick look through reviews suggests that the protagonist always has a choice.

Thanks Gog, I only hope future porn releases can be like this.

Thanks for taking your time to write this. I those releases really suffer from poor marketing. There's a basic overview of the story, some generic bullet points, and that's it. So it's hard to figure out what those games actually are, especially for those who are new to the genre.

You said you "like sexy RPG's not straight up H" and I sorta have the same feeling. Like, in books, I love sleeze, but fuck scenes just doesn't appeal to me.

I could imagine it depends on how well those were made. I just hit the 100 hour mark with "Being a DIK" and the game contains quite a few "fuck scenes" though most of the game feels much more like a good dating sim in an interesting story. However those scenes were not just well made, they also try to make sure that they and what the characters are thinking and/or saying during those will fit the characters doing it. So a professional will act completely different than somebody who does not have experience or is afraid to get her heart broken and so on. Imo it is a complete different thing than simply watching some porn clips which basically consists of two strangers doing it with basically no emotions and therefore no connection at all.

Swissy88: "A Classic RPG Experience"
Oh this looks neat/cute... wait, why is there an unrated version, why is she in her bra? Right...
Yeah, right? I thought the title sounded cool but was disappointed when I opened it and realized it has to be another porn game.

Is anyone else disappointed when they see an interesting title and think, oh wow, that's sounds like an interesting JRPG! ...and it turns out to be jsut a porn game. :/ Imagine how cool would be a detective JRPG inside a steampunk city with actual riddles, puzzles and cases to solve, and not a railroad. Or just a JRPG, but a AAA one, not a RPGmaker one.

To the Moon is an RPG maker game as well afaik - and so are the sequels. All pretty nice games. I understand that you are disappointed because you have expected something with more gameplay (the porn is probably optional in this one if you don't install the unrated DLC) - but saying that everything that's RPG maker (or any engine for that matter) is bad imo is judging too fast.

Gog there is a simpler way you can do to earn money. Make a visual novel for The witcher I'm sure it will save a lot of money. Winnie the poo loves it too. Searches for censored version with rocket man
This game is but a shallow taste of what needed to be a better steampunk experience. Or maybe it was me who wanted more cases, more villains to arrest, a better developed nemesis, a bigger world to explore. Perhaps the game is fine in its attempt and it is I who was greedy for more...
Nonetheless, it's a nice idea, yet with limited implementations here.
Steampunk breasts are the best kind of breasts, perhaps? :P

KasperHviid: Another trailer with a max resolution of 480p. Really GOG, get your act together.
You need some of that breast upscaling algorithm from Nvidia, young lad. Buy their GPUs won't ya? :P

Keep 'em coming, aint buying from steam anymore until i'm sure you won't release them here.

It probably goes without saying but GOG rarely gets "AAA" games. I'm sure they're continually trying to break into the Asian markets though.

Assuming Square Enix Japan isn't any closer to letting GOG bring the FF games here, ideally Konami would be satisfied with how well their games sold here and let GOG have at various other titles including the PC ports of the Suikoden games. (unless we only got the games we did because of some deal related to CP2077, not sure what it would have been though)

To be fair, it really depends. There are definitely adult type games I like, but it has to be the right kind of mood and atmosphere. Generally I don't like when porn is part of the gameplay. Let me give you an example of how this is done right.

In Rance VI, you have h-scenes that you can watch to uncap the levels of your other character, or if you capture monster girls. None of these involve any semblance of gameplay. You're not in a battle scene where your character is all of a sudden changed to a sex sprite. The battles in Rance VI are taken VERY seriously and I haven't seen a sex scene yet in any of them. Alicesoft knew when to do the sex scenes and when to do the gameplay and that's not at the same time. It just becomes really silly then. Evenicle is the same way. By the way, more people should buy that, it's the closest we'll get to AAA in this industry.

There are sex scenes in the story plot, but not during the gameplay. Yeah, I may sound really picky but Kagura and most of DLSite gets this wrong. I guess I'm calling out most Japanese doujin circles right now, but the point remains - sex scenes do not need to occur in the middle of gameplay. Hell, even games like Holy Knight Ricca make that toggleable. If you lose to the monster, yes - sex happens. But you can even remove that in some games. Steam versions remove all of it for the most part, or did in the past. Unholy Disaster has a clean version and that was pretty fun.

Visual novels do a much better job of that, because they rely more on the voice and dialogue to convey emotion. You have a few CG's, but you don't need that many. The dialogue illustrates the scene there and you want these to happen because you understand the characters a bit more.

However, it is really unfair to say something like Ideology In Friction wouldn't have that, because the guy saved her from being killed as a child and yes, they are going to have that kind of bond as adults.

And also, to be completely fair - not all sex requires an emotional bond. Some people just like to fuck to fuck, especially when it comes to young people. Some of you may have forgotten those days, but I haven't. That young lust is a part of these things. Now some of you may have gotten a bit older and such and just couldn't imagine yourself as a young man anymore, but some of us can. We can put ourselves into the character's shoes and relive those moments in a fantasy sort if way - which is the same with Being A DIK. I've been playing that one on my channel and I really enjoy those as well. You do not need to have an emotional bond to have sex, that is some crap going through the post-modernist schools and colleges we have today. Sometimes people just want to fuck.
Thanks for the release!
