I am a rock, I am an island.

<span class="bold">Dear Esther: Landmark Edition</span>, the definitive version of the narrative-driven experience that kicked off a sub-genre, is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com!

Looking more stunning than ever, <span class="bold">Dear Esther</span> is a modern classic that's hard to forget.
You've arrived at an island that floats on the verge of sorrow. Painful memories echo through its mesmerising caverns and stunning landscapes, carried in a mellow narrator's voice. Who are you, and how did you earn the privilege to share this burden?

I really fail to see how remaking the game with a new engine and an audio remaster is enough to resell it at "full" price as I don't think the people who enjoyed it were paying attention to the graphics.

Will get a new version of Gone Home remade with the Crysis Engine in a few months?
No release date on the game card.
*yawn* I prefer real 'walking simulators.' You know, the thing where you actually do the walking. I don't think I'll ever get the point of these interactive experiences. That's all they are. They really shouldn't be associated with games as they typically don't have any actual gameplay. Alright, they have directional controls. How droll! As said... *yawn*

Once again, this was "remade" so they can sell the game in console-land. That's all.

Done the original, pretty forgetable, same for Machine for Pigs and Everybody's gone to the rapture.

Not a fan of those devs.

There are way better narrative videogames than those I think.

My two cents. :P

IwubCheeze: I'm guessing it's better to just watch a playthough of this game on Youtube?
I'll agree with MarkoH01, better wait for a good discount to try it yourself (if you're not so sure about it) rather than watch it on YT. Really gorgeous game, reeks of atmosphere and mystery.
Wishlisted! Looks like it could be fun to play.
really makes you think huh

Seriously though, nice to see another 300+ votes completed.

Unrelated aside from being an indie game, we need Antichamber (though last time I talked to the dev, like 2014, he very much didn't want to bother bringing the game):

For some reason, Dear Eshter ended up being the first in my list, although it starts with D and not in numerals.

Am I the only one? Anyway to fix it?

Edit: refresh didn´t help :)

GOG.com: [. . .] privilege [. . .]
REEEEEEE!!!
If there is one thing I must give the game credit for - it is the level design. The cave is stunningly beautiful.

Would love to see such detailed caves in some RPGs.

Perhaps because it still has the 'new' sticker? New games always appear first, I think. (at least they are in my account, but that might be a script I'm using). Just click on the game card to make the 'new' go away, then Dear Esther should fall into line.

No sticker on my game, not anymore, plus games on my shelve are always in their alphabetical order, no matter whether new or old (I once had game which I haven´t opened after buying for a month - that sticker was still there).

So I assume it´s a glitch.

Then probably yes. You might try to switch to 'sort by purchase date' and then back to 'sort by title'. And if that doesn't help, just wait for the glitch to go away.
