On a search for the D.

D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die, a quirky adventure game from the creators of Deadly Premonition, is available for Windows, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 10% launch discount.

From the peculiar mind of Hidetaka Suehiro (or just Swery65), the brains behind 2010's Deadly Premonition, comes D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die, an even more unusual adventure (with a solid PC release!). It all starts as the story of a man with a very strange fate. A man on a tireless search for his wife's killer. A man who can never forget "Look for D.", her last words. And a man who just happens to travel back in time. It's a particular world made all the more particular by the fact that maybe you can't trust your broken mind completely - so when your roommate/grocery shopper cat-lady friend busts into the room just to spit a mouse into your mouth, you may start to wonder. You may have to puke first. But then you may start to wonder. D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die is a unique adventure game set in a detailed and lovingly crafted universe that would be a pleasure just to observe.

You can pick up the Special Edition (or just upgrade later on) to receive the Base Game and all of the following:
- D4: Special Costume Set (12 Beers) DLC
- D4: Special Art Book
- D4: Season One Voice Over Script
- D4: Mini Soundtrack

D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 10% launch discount will last for one week, until Friday, June 12, at 10:59 PM GMT.
People should play more Deadly premonition and after those awkward controls would play it trough and after only that support episodic gaming and yes, Deadly premonition isn't episodic if it was it would suck but if people get it from sale like really cheap don't get bummed if you don't like it, try it more. You might love it like me. Give time.

Why I'm saying this? It's all true but I don't really know what is D4 there was some game in old consoles like in PS2 it was named D.. I don't actually know what it was, perhaps survival horror.

Prob not related but if they are it's a good thing.

I just wrote a long story.. where is it?

CharlesGrey: But... it's already out?

Plus, apparently the console version has already been out even longer.
Yes, that is why I posted this later. :)

By the way, Xbox controller works perfectly in this game.

In case of any other game I would have commented "no shit" but considering the fiasco that Deadly Premonition's controller support was - thanks.

Yeah, I only saw the first page of the thread when I posted my comment. Bit late to the ( release ) party. :P

Hm, the interface in the screenshots looked like it would work best with a mouse. I'll have to try out both, then. I usually prefer to use a gamepad, except for games which work best with mouse input, such as Point&Click Adventures.

The way it works it is a point and click. :P
It works amazingly well using the mouse, controller seems a bit clunky.

You're probably thinking of these 2 games:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D_%28video_game%29
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D2_%28video_game%29

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D_%28series%29

Unfortunately, they are not related.
And for something completely different:

"On a search for the D."

... Hah, I knew this game looked kinda queer.
Nice D4 reached GOG on the same release date of Steam. Hopefully the port is better than DP one.
I've managed to miss this game at first because the main page currently is hardly suitable for new releases.
Bought!
wasnt
this designed for the hunk of MS junk that lets you shout at the console to turn it on.

Or be a normal person & just hit the middle button.

jakerscythe: Are those minimum requirements for real? Guess I'll have to pass on this.
Requirements are almost always overblown. Especially for Japanese games. I'm honestly surprised you're taking them to heart.

The main page for the game has a demo to try out for this exact reason. Instead of guessing based on silly requirements you can see for yourself.

Judging by the horrible and slow hand cursor on the screen, probably for hand motions.
Is anyone else having problems with crashing?

Was that fixed? Thinking of playing it soon & would want to use a controller.

Nice, didn't even this was out already. Must wishlist this to begin with because of lack of time to actually do any gaming.
