On a search for the D.

D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die, a quirky adventure game from the creators of Deadly Premonition, is available for Windows, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 10% launch discount.

From the peculiar mind of Hidetaka Suehiro (or just Swery65), the brains behind 2010's Deadly Premonition, comes D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die, an even more unusual adventure (with a solid PC release!). It all starts as the story of a man with a very strange fate. A man on a tireless search for his wife's killer. A man who can never forget "Look for D.", her last words. And a man who just happens to travel back in time. It's a particular world made all the more particular by the fact that maybe you can't trust your broken mind completely - so when your roommate/grocery shopper cat-lady friend busts into the room just to spit a mouse into your mouth, you may start to wonder. You may have to puke first. But then you may start to wonder. D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die is a unique adventure game set in a detailed and lovingly crafted universe that would be a pleasure just to observe.

You can pick up the Special Edition (or just upgrade later on) to receive the Base Game and all of the following:
- D4: Special Costume Set (12 Beers) DLC
- D4: Special Art Book
- D4: Season One Voice Over Script
- D4: Mini Soundtrack

D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 10% launch discount will last for one week, until Friday, June 12, at 10:59 PM GMT.
Looks interesting, will probably pick it up later.. when there isn't a huge sale going on for example.
BTW, did I see the word 'season' there somewhere?
Are those minimum requirements for real? Guess I'll have to pass on this.
And it's in my library, thanks GOG!
Great release :). I am super excited it is going to be Day 1 on GOG. Pre-ordered even if I am going to be busy binge watching the new season of OITNB that day.

By the way, 14 ***** ratings on the game page already? Not cool at all. GOG should disable this for any unreleased game.

Perhaps I should try this unusual game,
It feels a lot like bleaching your brain.

So says Mr. Stewart.

The way i understand it, the game IS released...well season one that is- this is the PC debut i think. Anyway, i played it 5 months ago already- so it's possible that the people that are rating really have played it.

Holy crap! Day one purchase for me, SWERY is great.
High production values and would love to chase that woman through my kitchen in a playful style ;-)
but all those QTE's? Not my kind of game.
Is there achievement support on Galaxy for D4? Would be cool as some of the Steam ones are interesting to say the least.

You are right, I completely missed the release date 5 June and mixed it with 12th when the promo ends. My bad. I assumed it was probably raised by people who played it on Xbox One.
Woah, it means I can play it this weekend. Oh geez, and I planned to do some work.

Do Galaxy achievements actually work? I completed a game with integrated achievements and none of them never unlocked.
And no, this game does not have achievements.

Looks interesting...

Adalrich: Had to grab this as a big fan of Deadly Premonition, nice to see D4 coming to GOG on day one this time.

The only thing that's kind of bumming me out is the bundling of the Special Edition stuff. I would've gladly dropped a few eurobucks on the art book, but the entire package is a bit pricey for me at the moment, though I can sympathize with Swery wanting to make enough bank to actually finish the story.
Well, good thing GoG gives you the option to upgrade to the special edition later. :)

But... it's already out?

Plus, apparently the console version has already been out even longer.

The way I've been looking at it, I would rather give the money to support GOG, and as far as the achievements go, I could get the game later in a dollar bundle at a later date (what happened to me with Deadly Premonition).
I don't usually buy games at full price but when I see that developers who are talented and has interesting ideas need every coin I make an exception. Besides, the price is REALLY low for a new game. This game needs the support.
