"using parkour skills and a grappling hook to scale and ride walls while fighting enemies with a laser gun"

That line alone made the game sound awesome. Then I looked at the screenshots and thought: "That's a big nope for me." But I decided to watch the trailer anyway and now I am on the fence. I think I will keep an eye on this one for now. Be interested to hear some other peoples opinions. Maybe read some reviews after a while. After all that description sure does sound fun. But "parkour skills" in first person? That just seems lazy.

Worked well for me in Mirror's Edge

Yeah, I was actually reminded of A Story About My Uncle, which I liked, but I think not everyone did.

Ah, totally forgot about that one, even though its more similiar - gameplay wise - then Mirror's Edge
. Its in my library, but never came around trying it out
Does the game allow the user to save at any time?

Having just watched the trailer for A Story About My Uncle I think we might have different definitions of "parkour skills". When I think "parkour skills" I think along the lines of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time or Assasin's Creed. Things like wall running and edge grabbing. All I saw in the trailer for A Story About My Uncle was jumping and grappling. Not exactly the same thing. And Mirror's Edge may be first person, but you still see your body, arms and legs. In this game (Cyber Hook) all you see is a floating pair of hands. Not much in the way of sliding or wall running if you don't even have feet. Just doesn't fit what I understand to be "parkour." Maybe my definition is wrong, but that is what I am referring to.
Wait! (He jokingly exclaims!)

This isn't my cyberpunk fishing sim!

hmm, llooks like you are right - did not remember the trailer for asamu right and thought you reffered to parkour in general in your first comment. Sorry

I liked Mirror's Edge but it became frustrating for me at some point, I was thinking just earlier I should give it another try. ASAMU, I wanted to like it but I got stuck under some stupid tree and could not progress in any way, I don't know if it was a bug or what else.
For sure Mirror's Edge is less lazy than all those stupid Assassin's Creed, new Lara Croft, Uncharted and so on "parkour" where you just press the up key to climb all the way up. Wow.
Premise looks interesting, but the art style gives me a bit of a headache.
Inspired by the '90s cyberpunk films no doubt (The Lawnmower Man, Johnny Mnemonic etc). Looks nice, but feels like such kind of game should have been released for Linux too instead of showing Linux users a flashing "Access denied".

It always feels strange when a cyberpunk game comes out for Windows only.

Incredible game, holy fuck. I'm glad that I've bought art of rally and this instead of Control.

If you liked DeFrag and/or even Kreedz Climbing you will love this. The guy who made this is a genius. This game has perfect flow of gameplay. Its perfect for improving aim if you like FPS games.

Its rare to find a 10/10 game like that is this unknown. The only downside are the graphics as other users spoke off already.

Its only loosely inspired by 80s/90s cyberpunk. Look up Neo-Retro via your fav search engine. If you know the movie Drive and how it looks like you may already know exactly what I mean.

This game has literally nothing to do with cyberpunk at all. If you really don't know what I'm talking about. The artstyle may be more closely related to Tron and perhaps Akira but without any of the real world and cyberpunk-ish aspects. Its only loosely based even if you consider these movies and how they influenced these sort of modern neon artstyles. They're all iconic movies though, including Drive.

Also do you use Wine? The game doesn't seem to be that advanced so the API doesn't find the necessary hooks. I've ran far more advanced programms with Wine then this game.

It uses the aesthetic of cyberpunk films depiction of "cyberspace", so I can't say it has nothing to do with cyberpunk. The borrowing is quite obvious.

I do, but I buy games to play in Wine only if I really like them. This case doesn't look like one worth buying to play in Wine vs giving preference to developers who release for Linux proper.

Nice release. I like the look of it, but it is too fast for me. I cannot play games like this. Oh, well.
