Compatible with your own tracks & USB dance pad!

Crypt of the NecroDancer, a musical roguelike dungeon crawler with GOG Galaxy integration for Windows and Mac OS X, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 33% launch discount.

Dance, dance, dance the night away. Dance the evil ghosts and skeletons into loot puree. Crypt of the NecroDancer is one of the weirdest games you will ever play, and not because it’s filled to the brim with sporks and quirky tweens. It's a rhythm-based roguelike that has you matching a song's beat to beat the crap out of baddies. It's a straightforward experience that sounds like one of the most innovative things in gaming, but it's not just a gimmick as underneath the notes and tunes you'll find a full-fledged roguelike with plenty of loot, replayability and challenge. Crypt of the NecroDancer let's you import your own music as well, so can you beat it on Through the Fire and Flames?

Practice at home, at work, or on the bus, with the two bonus soundtracks: the original Danny Baranowsky tracks, and Extended Soundtrack (in two remixed versions, by A_Rival and FamilyJules7X) all available in extreme FLAC, and optimal MP3!

For even more NecroDancer digital-swag, check out the extras pack with a behind-the-scenes Director's Cut video, super-high-res Dance Pad covers, and a bunch of other random stuff.

Got questions for the developers? You’re in luck - Ryan and Heather from Brace Yourself Games will be hanging out on the forums on Monday, August 17th, for a special Q&A session from 8 to 10pm GMT (10pm-12am CEST, 4-6pm EDT, 1-3pm PST) to answer all your pressing questions about the game, the life behind game development, or their favorite cat video of all time.

Unleash your killer dance moves in Crypt of the NecroDancer with GOG Galaxy support for Achievements and Leaderboards. So dance! Dance the dance of the NecroDancer DRM-free on GOG.com! The launch discount will last for one week, until Thursday, August 20, 12:59 PM GMT.

Zoidberg: I wasso glad to see this finally coming here... then I saw it follows this regional pricing nonsense... ouch... come on guys... :/
^ This. *sigh*

hunvagy: Bought it, but seems you guys left the Galaxy bits in it.. again. Just like the Witcher 3, the installed version just crashes and starts the GOG Galaxy services in the background. Not impressed.

Edit: Yup, just confirmed it for myself, it starts through Galaxy, but not out of the file system :|
Hi,

Could you send us a Support ticket about this so we can look into it? Thank you and sorry for the hassle about this!

Will do and don't worry about it, once I started it through Galaxy, it started behaving again. Game's worth some hassle :)

omega64: I bought it months ago because it didn't show up on GOG. >_<
Yay for not including anything with the game though. I guess we have to pay for everything now.
avatar
Lobuno: Only if you pay for everything now...
I meant that nothing is included, not even a measly wallpaper. ;P

Will there be a new installer for AvP Classic 2000 that will have the Galaxy leftovers removed as well?
high rated
You know... There was a time where GOG added wallpapers and avatars as free "goodies". Today you have to purchase them as a DLC. A regional priced DLC! This is sad :(

I'm skipping this only because I know that it would be impossible for me lol.
(says before the next uber promo..)
"Dance the evil ghosts and skeletons into loot puree."

There is a character you can easily unlock called the Bard with whom you don't have to worry about the rhythm and just enjoy the game :)

Are you referring to the old Launcher? If so, that's been removed when we went from the Alpha stage of GOG Galaxy to Beta.

Of course, it helps to know what exactly you mean by "leftovers" :)

Ah.. weird feature in such game, but quite useful then :P

GOG can only offer what they are given by the publisher.

Vestin: I have 115 hours clocked in and I'm far from being done or bored with the game. When I started out, I didn't even have a good sense of what a "beat" really was.
Get it. Unless you have a deep-seated hatred of roguelikes and all they stand for, you should enjoy your time with this game immensely.
That's great for you, but I have been burned too many times by internet recommendations. 10€ is too much to just gamble away.

HiPhish: This is a prime example of a game that should have had a demo. I have no idea whether the gameplay is actually good or just a gimmick that gets old after ten minutes.
You could always... "try it at a friend's place"...

I know. I still find it pretty sad to see "free goodies" as regional priced DLC. But maybe I'm just an old fart who's still stuck in the "One World One Price - Free Goodies - 100% DRM free" times :/
Checks out some of the soundtrack.

:Chuckles:

Goes further up my wishlist.

It's a good one to get used to how the various monsters move :) Once you get the hang of that you can try playing as Cadence, the main character of the game :)
