Brick out these construction plans.

Craft The World, a sandbox strategy game where you build your own dwarf fortress, is available now DRM-free on GOG.com for Windows and Mac with GOG Galaxy support for achivements and multiplayer and a 50% launch discount.

Conquering the world can be a pretty epic and thrilling undertaking, but it usually leaves you saddled with the resources and constructions of its previous owner(s). Where's the fun in that? Play God instead, and manage your own tribe of laborious dwarves as they build a home for themselves on a randomly generated island, full of opportunities and untapped real estate potential.

Mine the surface and subsurface world for resources, build a fortress fit for a vertically challenged king, and defeat any malicious creatures that want to claim it for themselves. Grow your dwarf workforce, craft them better weapons and equipment but also provide them with food, furniture, ammunition, and decent living conditions. And if you Craft The World as impressive as your divine powers allow, be prepared to use your magic in order to discourage the hordes of monsters that will come pouring through portals to bang at your doors.

Craft The World as sturdy, stylish, and efficient as you please, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 50% discount will last until February 10, 1:59 PM GMT.

darthspudius: Looks like Terraria... about the 100th game to do so.

Not so far. :P
Looks nice if you like the genre...
The 1st Wiki I went to says immediately get a shelter up around my stockpile. The 2nd Wiki I went to said the fastest way to lose the game is to worry about immediately getting a shelter up around my stockpile. ;P
My fave game of Christmas 2014 - Played it all through the holidays and was very entertained.

Like all games its not for everyone, but I would say if you liked Dungeon Keeper and fancy a different slant on that type of game then this might be for you

Heavy on digging building and building traps is what I am implying

Loved it

Painted_Doll: Looks like we really have to make a " Where the hell is this week's classic release ? " thread .
avatar
foxworks: Indeed. But if these releases are what keeps GOG afloat while they find more classics to release, I'll gladly wait. :D
Yeah, me too. But I admit, I would be very happy to see some STAR WARS Racer or Shadows of the Empire ...
Any plans for a Linux port?
Currently sitting at #4 popular sale... *sigh* I see, there is no way to avoid buying this. I'll just sit over there with Thea and pretend to resist for a little while more. This week already stretched my non-Oblivion fund limit somewhat. There seems to be slight possibility that Judas knew what he was saying after all.

Impaler26: Another Terraria clone?

Jeez, those seem to be quite popular. :D
It's not really. It's dwarf colony building and management with tower defence (unfortunately) added on top. Last part wasn't so bad on first map as enemies spawned from one portal some distance away from your base but on second map, by the time I abandoned the game, I had to deal with three portals worth of strong mobs when I barely could deal with one. They spawned just outside my base, one even on the roof so no way to fit defences. It doesn't help that dwarfs have intelligence of rock and run thru enemy army to escape when low on healt instead of taking portal next to them. Game also becomes pretty tedious and repetive in the long run as you have to micromanage everything and keep an eye on your dwarfs so they don't do anything stupid to get themselves killed.

Woolytoes: Any plans for a Linux port?
Seeing as this is already on iOS, is there plans for an Android port too?
