Dead on arrival

Corpse Party, a spooky adventure about the occult backfiring on some meddling teenagers, is now available with GOG Galaxy support for achievements and statistics, DRM-free on GOG.com.

High school is where teenager shenanigans usually reach the peak of self-endangering recklessness. And when a magic charm accidentally transfers a group of friends to the ghostly past of Heavenly Host Elementary, they've only got themselves to blame for their misfortune. But fortunately for us, we get to follow them through a series of gruesome happenings, otherworldly interactions, sinister puzzles, and gut-wrenching decisions. The story features multiple endings, as plentiful as the various iterations of this horror cult-classic which now gets its definitive PC edition, full of reworked assets and enriched story elements.

Here's your blood-stained invitation for a macabre but curiously intriguing Corpse Party, DRM-free on GOG.com. Please bring your own body parts.

drealmer7: Interesting to see such a large influx of teen-oriented games over the past few years. I'm not sure I like it, but, interesting.
Corpse Party is a lot older than you think. The original was made in the mid 1990s on the PC-98. It's only received English localizations in the past few years.

Yezemin: How have I never heard about this before? This looks right up my alley.
Praise the lord for Falcom games hittin' western shores in recent years. So awesome.

What does Falcom have to do with this?

omega64: What does Falcom have to do with this?
Octodude, I know that CP isn't, but TiTS (:P) and Ys are Falcom games that, once released in the east, didn't get ports and localization in the west. Thanks to XSEED and others, well, we can dig these classics ;P

We definitely need more TiTS. :P
I wish the Ys Vita game was on PC.
That framerate. >_<
Still haven't finished it due to aliasing everywhere AND awful framerate.
I'll be snagging this eventually (already have the PSP version and plan to snag the 3DS one too at some point.) I'm glad Xseed has kept up with doing DRM-free releases. Hopefully Xanadu Next gets that same attention since I've held out on importing it for so long already.

You'd know if it wasn't this one. :P
Book of Shadows is sort of a point and click instead of this.
Blood Drive is pretty recent and has chibi characters.

We'll have more TiTS later on, according to wikipedia ;P
HUE

And why the Ys Vita game? Amazing framerate or a bad one?

Fixed that for you. The game is available on PC, but only in Chinese.

I'll admit to be intrigued by this one. Stylistically it looks like Fatal Frame redone in Ren'py, which appeals to me more than is healthy. :)
