Dead on arrival

Corpse Party, a spooky adventure about the occult backfiring on some meddling teenagers, is now available with GOG Galaxy support for achievements and statistics, DRM-free on GOG.com.

High school is where teenager shenanigans usually reach the peak of self-endangering recklessness. And when a magic charm accidentally transfers a group of friends to the ghostly past of Heavenly Host Elementary, they've only got themselves to blame for their misfortune. But fortunately for us, we get to follow them through a series of gruesome happenings, otherworldly interactions, sinister puzzles, and gut-wrenching decisions. The story features multiple endings, as plentiful as the various iterations of this horror cult-classic which now gets its definitive PC edition, full of reworked assets and enriched story elements.

Here's your blood-stained invitation for a macabre but curiously intriguing Corpse Party, DRM-free on GOG.com. Please bring your own body parts.

Maxvorstadt: RPG Maker game?
Yes.
Two games I really want in a single day... I knew you love me, GOG :D

jamesbuc: So... this isnt seen as niche while the Cave shumps were rejected as being too niche?

Okay...

Also this is just a weird version to be using given the PSP/Vita ports.
It gets weirder, there's a new 3ds version with graphics changed a bit and new exclusive chapters.
This version has an exclusive chapter not in the psp/3ds versions.
With Japanese Audio? Great :D

Great release, though given its timing, I fear that it might not get the attention it deserves.

Regardless, very happy to see more Japanese games on the service.
I would be very much interested since I like this kind of stuff (anime/manga/adventure/visual novel) but the price tag for me here in Germany is much too steep so it goes to the wishlist and will only buy on a very good sale. I guess that this is not the intention of regional pricing but there you have it. I hate regional pricing and it is STILL unfair!
Interesting to see such a large influx of teen-oriented games over the past few years. I'm not sure I like it, but, interesting.

Buy it if you like it enough to use caps. :P

Very nice and thank you Gog.com. I'll be grabbing it up especially for the Ayumi event that was in the original Corpse Party made in the 90s, but they removed that event in the PSP release. (The game from the 90s is the original game made with RPG maker that is around on the internet. The story is a little different.) Science lab here I come.

I've been looking forward to buying this for awhile.
How have I never heard about this before? This looks right up my alley.

Just a warning beforehand: You'll most likely want to keep a guide handy for when you get stuck.
There are a lot of bad ends, to continue you need the proper ending of each chapter.
At least one is really obtuse, like picking up an item at a specific moment or you will get a bad end.
