The (cater)pillars of heavy-metal warfare.

<span class="bold">Codename: Panzers Phase I</span>, and <span class="bold">Phase II</span>, the acclaimed duo of RTSs where you command heavy artillery while entangled in historical WWII battles, is available now DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 40% launch discount. Buying both will grant you a 60% completionist discount.

As kids, playing with toy cannon-cars™ was usually the pinnacle of our accurate reenactment of human warfare. Because tanks can go anywhere, blast through anything, and withstand terrible amount of punishment. The same holds true for their digital counterparts that are tasked with changing the tide of war with real-time strategic moves in iconic WWII scenarios.

Codename: Panzers: Phase I and Codename: Panzers: Phase II let you control infantry and artillery units as you alternate between three opposing factions right in the middle of Stalingrad, Berlin, El Alamein, and even Monte Cassino. Take the reins of war from renowned commanders like Hans Von Gröbel, Aleksander Efremovich Vladimirov, Dario DeAngelis, and Farvan "Vuk" Pondurovik, crush the enemy forces, and relive their greatest victories. It was the dawn of a new era, ushered by roaring, strategic canon-blasts that still echo today.

Manage and position your menacing machines of war in authentic WWII battlefields as you command the <span class="bold">Codename: Panzers Phase I</span> and <span class="bold">Phase II</span>, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 40% launch discount and the 60% completionist discount will last until February 25, 3:59 PM GMT.

Tarm: That's like standard for tabletop games and a computer game example is Final Liberation. Very interesting.

Matruchus: Yes, but forgot to add that you pick out the units before the map loads so you effectively make your stack before you begin the fight. You can also save your pre-selected armies so you can use them in different battles.
Pre-select is a very practical feature. If you can have more than one. :)
Can you see the map before you choose your units?
avatar
Matruchus: You get so called prestige points at the start (between 2000-3000 points depending on the game type you wan't to play) and you can buy units for your army. So let's say a Tiger Tank costs 300 points. Rifleman 30 points, submachine gunners 70 points, Medium artillers 118 points. Basically you can pick out any unit from the pool be it infantry, panzer, artillers or support vehicles (reconnaisance, ammo supply, repair truck) and buy it as much as your prestige points pool allows.
That sounds pretty cool. Can you set it so it's just a tank war on both sides? Or will the computer use the points for infantry?
Does anybody have a problem with Phase Two not running on Windows 7? It works fine on XP but on windows 7 I get "api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1--0-dll is missing from your computer" error when I try to launch it.

Try installing the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 runtime. It should have installed with the game but since it didn't either download it from Microsoft or look for a _redist folder in the Phase Two directory and there should be a redistributable there :)

You can not set up the army for the computer but they do go for as many tanks as they can since they are limited by the points the same way we are.

Well you can see the mini map when you pick a map. Otherwise you have Stalingrad map, russian village map, village, etc. This is for phase one that I have installed. And yes you can have as many preselected armies as you wan't (I have three saved).

That should be sufficient for seeing if for example tanks is a good idea or not.

You're free. It might not be healthy for you to spend your free weekends here at work so often. ;)

You cannot take the forum out of Judas. It's just not possible.

Yeah deep down I know this to be true. Takes one to know one. Difference is I get burned out from time to time.
I admire the passion of Judas and his resurrection as a Blue.
Great to see these two games here. Keep em coming gog!

I'd rather try and hopefully solve a problem that I think I have the answer to rather than create more work for Support and then our techs :)

You need to hire more guys. Give me a call and I'll happily take the job of supervisor with it's higher pay. My only slight demand would be a chair with decent back support so I wouldn't get back problems while making sure you're working at maximum capacity.

The GOG forum code scares me. It's so unpredictable I try to stay away from actions that might aggravate it.

Your recommendation might make me dare take the plunge though...
