Highway to hell.

ClusterTruck, a frenetic action/platform where you hop from one moving truck to the next, is now available for Windows, Mac, and Linux, DRM-free on GOG.com.

Remember that insane highway chase in The Matrix Reloaded? How could you forget - it was its only redeeming quality. Well ClusterTruck is all about letting you experience the same exhilarating frenzy and breakneck action that only jumping from one moving truck to the next can evoke.
Play "the road is lava" while trying to stay on top of these metallic monstrosities, avoiding the random explosions, laser beams, huge rolling boulders, and other typical hazards of the open highway. Apart from your Van Damm-ian balance, you will need to unlock and master special abilities like the Grappling Hook, the Truck Cannon, and even Time-Control, in order to reach the end of the sinister campaign or just see how far you can push your high-score. Come on, let's see some truck-tion out there, people!

Cross the highway as a truck-hopping daredevil who's not afraid of getting mixed up in a chaotic ClusterTruck, DRM-free on GOG.com.

I don't know if people who are into this sort of game would find this to be good or bad, but for myself, just watching the preview video makes me want to lie down in a dark room with my eyes closed until the headache goes away.

Guys, I found one of the people who's responsible for the recent game curation. It's just as I suspected, they sit 2 staff members in front of a laptop, see what they laugh at, and let in games based on that.

trusteft: Wizzball, that's another game I haven't thought of in recent times.
:p
Wizball is one of my favourite games, but I supposed you'd guessed that ;-)

Unfortunately, the gameplay is based heavily around the graphics limitations of the C64, and is quite hard to "translate" to modern technical circumstances.

Clustertruck is a fine game though.
Why did I read this as "Clusterfck'?

Well, maybe cause of the game being as it is.

reminds me of that stage in shadows of the empire where you have to jump from platform to platform on the train. might be cool.

IAmSinistar: GOG really needs more playable demos, given how so many releases these days can go either way and it's hard to tell if you'll like a game from just the screenshots and video.
Hear hear!

Edit - apparently I conflated Steam's policy with GOGs. Not sure exactly when I got the idea GOG would refund poor quality, but live and learn.

In fairness to GOG, they do offer a full refund no questions asked.

If you feel that the game's marketing was uninformative, or the game was just bad - return it.

Think the same. +1 :)

I'm concerned that this game has been falsely advertised. The store page mentions both an editor and replays, but neither seem to be present in the GOG version. From what I could find, the "replays" are basically ghosts of other players that you can race. The GOG version doesn't seem to have any online component from what I can tell. You can't even see your own high scores, making the table shown at the end of each level completely empty. From looking at videos online, the main menu for the Steam version has "Leaderboards" and "Editor" options, both of which are missing from the GOG version. After selecting "Play" the Steam version shows both "Campaign" and "Custom Maps" options. The GOG version only has the "Campaign" option.

Having missing features is sadly nothing new for GOG games, but having such features advertised on the store page is a major problem.

Uh, sure. As long as you haven't actually downloaded part of the game yet. After that that is not the case.
Highway to hell, indeed...

Jesus tapdancing Christ, gog! You'd think after the PR-disaster that was the Armello relaunch, someone would think that you guys would be just a tad more careful about selling gimped versions to your customers. Guess I was wrong.
