Get ready to embark on an incredible adventure within Chained Echoes - story-driven JRPG where a group of heroes travel around the vast continent of Valandis to bring an end to the war between its three kingdoms. It’s now available on GOG with a 15% launch discount that lasts until December 15th, 1 PM UTC.

This amazing title offers us a true JRPG experience that any fan of the genre is yearning for. We will take up our swords, channel magic or board special Mechs, because this 16-bit SNES style game is set in a fantasy world where dragons are as common as piloted mechanical suits.

In the course of our heroes’ journey, they will travel through a wide array of diverse landscapes spanning from wind-tanned plateaus and exotic archipelagos to sunken cities and forgotten dungeons. As well as meet and interact with colorful and interesting characters. All within the beautiful, pixel art world.

But beautiful audiovisuals and engaging story are not the only great things about Chained Echoes. Prepare for a detailed and fast-paced turn-based combat, with complex skill and equipment system, no random encounters; because enemies can be seen running around and tons of items to be looted, stolen or crafted.

Jump into the fun right now, follow your group of heroes as they explore a land filled to the brim with charming characters, fantastic landscapes and vicious foes, and find out if you can bring peace to a continent where war has been waged for generations and betrayal lurks around every corner.
This has been getting some pretty rave reviews, I'll be picking this up before the discount ends. :)
Mhhh kinda getting some Chrono Trigger/Secret of Mana vibes here.
Anyone interested here is a great review from noisypixel. They gave it a 9.5 out of 10.

I remember trying the demo for this one and immediately putting it on my wishlist. That feels so long ago now I don't remember all that much about it other than I loved every minute of it. I haven't been buying games lately since my backlog is so big, but I might just make an exception here.
Don't sleep on this game guys, all the reviews agree that this is a true gem, created with passion by practically one developer, and treating GOG with due respect by providing all the features of the platform.
I love those toucans. :D

In a myriad of JRPGs, this one somehow caught my eye.
So, some questions:
* What's the maximum party size?
* Are there cutscenes? If so, are they skippable?
* How much build variety is there, and if you change your mind mid-game, how easy is it to switch to a different build?
* What's the level cap, and what level are you expected to be by endgame?
* Is the ability to board Mechs anything like how it works in Metal Saga and the other Metal Max games?
* Are there vehicles that you can pilot in the overworld?
* Does the game provide a nice level of difficulty, without getting easier as you progress or getting too easy (or too hard too early on?)
Don't know about echoes but feel like game chained here. Sold.

Same here. But the pictures indicate a combat system that is more like rpg than action. Unfortunately :/
I love old school TB RPGs with modern QOL. I love Deck13. Sold.
Thanks for the release! This looks goregous, and hearing great things about this one bumps it right up the wishlist.
Looking through the trailer one scene looked a bit familiar and I remembered the demo from a couple of years ago (my orders show Aug 28, 2020, likely only available for a few weeks around then). I wasn't as excited as lots of folks here seem to be but it was decent and I'll pick it up at some point. The price tag seems rather high for a single developer game, I'll likely be waiting for it to drop below $10. For example, while some dialog has character portraits it doesn't look like they change expressions like true jRPGs (from Japan) usually do (at least the ones I've played). I find those changing expressions to be a really nice touch and wish all games would do that (but not super extreme expressions all the time like some games do).
Not a whole lot german JRPGs out there. :)

Some trailer snippets remind me of the Shadow Hearts games..which is a good thing, will watch a gameplay video later. :)

Edit: And I'll wait for a discount.
