Assume the role of an amorphous creature of unknown origins, stalking and consuming those that imprisoned you. Carrion is now available DRM-free on GOG.COM. In this reverse horror action-adventure game, your creature grows and evolves as it tears down its prison and acquires more devastating abilities on the path to retribution.

Visit our Twitch channel on 24th July, at 5 PM UTC, and witness the Carrion gameplay stream from DanVanDam. Be sure to join us, as we expect one of the Carrion’s creators, Krzysztof Chomicki, to appear on stream as well!
Judging by the animated launch trailer (which is nicely done, by the way) the creature is able to enter human bodies and burst out of them The Thing-style as well?

Does show a good amount of gameplay.
high rated
Any chance for the official soundtrack to be sold here too?
I know it's available directly from Cris Velasco on Bandcamp but it'd be nice to have in the GoG library alongside the game as well.
Don't normally do day 1 purchases but this game is pretty fun so far, a map would be nice to have but so far it's good, really well done animation and it does well showing how the mechanics are used in a passive way.
I've played the demo and it's something really unique. Screenshots and trailer tells nothing, the gameplay itself places you in really interesting role and well, it feels really special to be the monster. Worth trying, definitely!
Finally!
The demo was great! I haven't felt this sensation of hunting for a long time. As I wrote earlier in the demo topic: since the time of AvP2.
The movement is fast, smooth and intuitive ... Abilities are also intuitive and naturally come to mind during the game and then SNAP! - you get them (for sure the game was developed this way - first the main idea, then adding logical game mechanics).

I recommend to those who like Alien, The Thing, Dead Space, and light metroidvanias (judging by the demo, this element is implemented without a strong emphasis - and there is no particular choice of path, literally a couple of screens-rooms to the sides of the main path, but perhaps in the full game this aspect is more developed).

I am waiting for more reviews of release version to evaluate the final result and (if no "surprises" happen) I will probably pick it up at the weekend.
They had the carrion demo on here previously, doesn't make sense to take it down now that it's launched.
Man, this is already released? I grabbed the demo a while back but I still haven't gotten around to trying it out. Why does my backlog have to be so big? Someday soon I will try the demo and if I like it will buy the game. Someday...

True, it does not show up in catalogue but if you added it to your library you can still download it. Maybe they felt it was outdated compared to the final release.
I meant to reply to Swissy88! :)

Looks interesting but I'm seeing over at steam that the playtime is only 6 hours. On my wishlist - will probably wait for a sale. My backlog is far too big anyways.
Looks like really fun game.
Love the #reverse horror" description :) Seems interesting, will be keeping an eye on the early reviews.

I have played the demo and it's great, I wished it lasted longer. I have played another 2d pixel art reverse horror, that was more puzzle oriented, but this is on a different level. If you like the concept of being a monster and killing humans you could give the Dweller a chance, it's a nice game but nowhere close to the quality of Carrion.
Wasn't there some fuss about this released at the end of the year? :P
