Well that sure looks god-awful.
Looks like it might be fun. I loved Guild of Dungeoneering, I like games games that mix RPG and card games, and the whole 90s kids fighting invasion of monsters sounds like exactly the kind of thing I was talking about wanting to see more of in another thread just yesterday. The price however seems a bit much to me for a game like this, and even the considerable release discount doesn't entirely mitigate it.

Is this game like Metal Gear Solid?
Looks like a strategic deck building game, the likes of which is all too rate here (only one other I know of). On the other hand, "can't collect 'em all" is not the sort of thing I like to hear. Nor is "Windows only". I guess all the good card games are console-only.

This is great. I love Guild of Dungeoneering and this looks like it will be charming too, but more like Card City Nights.
Lasting changes? I hope Cardpocalypse has multiple profile/game slots like Guild of Dungeoneering then, so I can see where different playthroughs take me without losing previous ones.

(Psst, gog, Card City Nights 2? *hinthint*)

So this is taking nostalgia for the point of its sales. The question is is it going to succeed or it's just a shallow reminder of our childhood?

Also the artwork is kinda eeeeeh. I was hoping for the classic 90s cartoon design to complement the 90s setting.
Awesome theme song.

Yes, the song is great, but the graphics... I don't like them. Of course this is just my opinion.
Is there any actual person alive who unironically enjoys awful art-styles like this?
It's one of these "modern" graphics "art styles" I do not like much, definitely not a cute 90's graphics style. It's not that bad though, a lot of games have been released this year with worse graphics and at least the graphics resolution seems not to be artificially reduced. But having a "standalone" DLC already on release day...?

And here's the Cardpocalypse promo page which GOG does not link to.

It's not really a day-one DLC because the game was not really released on October 12, 2020. It was released more than a year ago, on September 19, 2019, on the Epic Game Store (EGS). The October 12, 2020 date is just the Steam release date.

This looks pretty cool and it has some coziness-ish thing pretty much like Card City Nights. Anyone who played this throroughly has something to say? I'm interested!

Thanks!
