Dum vivimus, vivamus

Caesar™ IV, a pinnacle of city-building strategies set in ancient times, is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com.

Rome wasn't built in a day, you know, and neither were the Roman aqueducts which are still subjects of study and praise by many a scholar. The same is true for the majestic structures they left behind, which still stand proud all across Europe. Want to know how they managed to erect these marvels of the ancient world? Assume control of the economy, planning, building, and managment of Roman settlements in challenging scenarios set during the Kingdom, Republic, and Empire eras, and watch your humble village grow to become a sprawling ancient metropolis. Even back then, people were very concerned with public services, hygiene, spectacles, and overall quality of life, so it's up to you to balance the complex needs of your citizens with the realities of city management, if you want to be remembered more as a Marcus Aurelius and less as a Nero.

Plan, build, and sustain a Roman metropolis that could stand the test of time in Caesar™ IV, DRM-free on GOG.com.

How can he dare laugh upon hearing your good friend's name Bigus D*ckus!
I own the cd version though i wonder if it will work on win 10,don't know what kind of protection they are using.Haven't played it much due to my graphic card failing on my older pc back in the day.So all i know is caesar 3 was really good and 4 is still unknown to me due to only playing the tutorials campaigns.Wonder if GOG has also some campaigns which were only preorder goods.
So, Activision is back.
Good news. (not the terrible GOG kind)
I'll keep my fingers crossed for Laura Bow, Manhunter and Swat 4.
Lingua, linguae, lingua.

English only may be an issue for a complexe game like a city-builder. To add a multi language version would be interesting, no ?

fronzelneekburm: It warms my heart to see one of ye olde Sierra IPs making a comeback!
Not sure this counts as one of those. Wasn't Caesar IV done by Tilted Mill? So, from the same stable as Children of the Nile.
Alright, now onwards to Caesar 1+2 !!!

I can't imagine them being sold separately and for more than $9.99 ($5.99 is a possibility too).

Then another series complete! :D

It always bugs me to see the earlier entries missing. The sames goes for Sim City and The Settlers
Does this game have a windowed mode?

NuffCatnip: I'm more of a Nero, this game isn't for me. :)
Nero is, when it comes to vilains, overrated. For a part of his reign, he was rather decent, (of course having his mother's head brought to him in a pot , and ruining the economy with egocentric projects, and facilitating them by turning his capital to ashes somehow tarnished his reputation , but note the mother in question was a bitch 1st class, and Rome a filthy shithole in dire need of urban improvements ) .

Caracalla,( starting killing his brother in the arms of their mother, then went on to being a genocidal brutal powermonger , with a liking for murder and an unmoderated appetite for taxing people...to death ) or Comodus (insane, paranoid megalomaniac with an appetite for having otehr suffer , perverted , incestuous and perhaps paricide as well ) , or at a later stage Constantius II ( Imagine a IVth cenury Stalin with strong Chistian beliefs ) or Valentinian ( who travelled with an hungry bear in a cage and liked to have people thrown in the cage to help people master the concept of "respect" ) are imho much more inspirational.

What I meant when I mentioned Nero was that I'm not that much of a fan of city building games. :)

But I agree, there were even sicker beings than Nero reigning over the roman empire.

So, is there hope for Caesar 2?!
And Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom is still not here.
