UUNPV: If I was a park ranger shooting down hunters and disabling traps, avoid being spotted (tracks/vision), looting them, getting funds to buy better equipment, then it would be a lot more interesting but now? What is the fun in shooting an animal.
Sorry not my theme. But if you need ideas for a dlc :) ...the game looks awesome.
Get Hitman.

XYCat: Ok, now someone should make a new game where you run around the nature but you don't go killing the wildlife for lolz :D

amok: Pokemon snap?
Afrika and
Endless Ocean are pretty much the highest profile games of such that I can think of.

Either that or give the animals some guns so they can defend themselves...
;)
If they included a sneaky multiplayer component that would let me join somebody else's game without their knowledge and hunt them while they "hunt" some unsuspecting animal, this would be my favorite game of all time...

Just shooting an animal for kicks isn't fun for me either and UNLESS it's a game where my choice is kill an animal or die of starvation, I wouldn't be playing it. It's a shame that survival couldn't have been built into this game versus animal assassination mechanics.

It would be nice if there we realistic survival games on gog, my wallet is ready.
Is there an option to shoot just tranquilizer darts? The way it was possible in other hunting games (such as a good old one set in the Ice Age, I do not remember the title).
I for one am just glad that there's also a game where the focus is deliberately NOT on the survival aspect but to simulate the process of the hunt itself and to collect virtual trophies of virtual animals.
Here's hoping Way of the Hunter may be joined by other hunting sims going DRM-free and releasing on GOG in the future.

Hunting games make it more difficulty by improving the odds:

- Considering vision, noise, smell (are you downwind or upwind?)

- Offering something like a crossbow instead of a gun. I would love to see implemented not just a crossbow but a regular bow. Even a traditional bow without pulleys.

- Offering to use tranquilizer darts instead of lethal bullets/arrows, and allowing some time (seconds) for taking effect. Enough for the animal to rip you if it is close and has good natural defenses. This also makes the game accessible to players who prefer not killing the animals.

Which ones have you tried so far?

Also, if you are in for survival, a large part of it would actually be gathering and setting traps.

Subsistance (on steam) is great as long as you don't trivialize food, but I'd want to get subsistance on GOG before I started playing it again. I don't think there's any game like subsistance on GOG at the moment. (sorry of the late delay).
