I was allowed to play an early alpha of this game (without voice over, placeholders and partly uncoloured) and I still enjoyed the game a lot. Of course I backed this as well. Great characters, great stories, innovative gameplay, many choices and now also good voice overs. Add to this that the lead dev is a very nice person who also treats GOG very well and this should be a no brainer for every point and click fan :)
The reason that this game and other anthropomorphic animal games are getting released is because the Sonic The Hedgehog Fan Game Convention or SAGE 2022 is the first week in September. This game along with Berserk Boy and Freedom Planet 2 were announced in the trailer. I'm crossing my fingers for Freedom Planet 2 to come here day one, since the original is here already. Here's the trailer for all the games there. Yeah, most of them are Sonic, Mega Man and Mario fan games, but you have a lot of indies popping up as well.

It won't let me post the link for some reason, so just look up "SAGE 2022" on YouTube and you'll find the trailer.
This looks... good? Weird genre mashup that looks like it's going to work out for them.

Just for information for those point and clickers who would love to play this but don't want to fight at all. You have several difficulty-options to chose from and if you chose the easiest one you will also have the option to skip fights so that you can play it like a regular point and click advemture.

This game with cartoon animals looks too violent for my seven-year old. Good thing he's already got Tribal Hunter!
Wait, is that Liam Neeson voiceovering the trailer?

I guess it could be but I don't think it sounds like him.
This looks very ambitious. If they managed to blend the elements (point and click, puzzles, beat'em up) well, this could be a unique experience. Wishlisted.
Curious to see this, wish list also for me while waiting for the Linux version.

Any idea how many hours one would sink into this playing the fighting game, and how many not playing the fighting game? I mean, how shorter the game becomes if you skip the fighting? Also, is the game kids friendly or more like an early adult thing? I see there are multiple endings, do you know if there are bad endings as well, and if so, how bad those endings are?

Thanks in advance!

Like I said, I played the Alpha and back then the fighting was pretty easy so it was basically just like skipping - took me about 15 hours to beat the game ... but keep in mind that in each scene you can find collectibles as well which are sometimes pretty well hidden - so that's additional gameplay as well. Fighting has been improved a lot so I can't tell you how long it would take you with fight on hard (which I am playing right now). The game is not very violent (cartoon violence of course) but the themes are also far deeper than what you'd expect when watching the cartoon character. I only got a good ending when I played and since the game has many choices I can't even tell you how bad and ending could be or how many bad things could happen.

Easy wishlist for me.
Wishlisted for now. This month my budget will have to choose between one of them: Brok, the new SpaceQuest game or Return to MI. Difficult choice.
