Gotta love the smell of napalm in the morning.

Broforce, an action/platformer thunderously celebrating the over-the-top American heroes that shaped the 80s and 90s, is available now for Windows, Mac, and Linux, DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 60% launch discount.

Broforce is all about relentless 8-bit action, an unlimited supply of evildoers, and sweet sweet freedom. Broforce is loud explosions wrapped in blinding flames. Broforce is throwing a knife to push the one sticking out of your enemy's back further in. Broforce is unlimited firepower, wanton destruction, cheesy one-liners, manly guns, America, gigantic mech suits, gargantuan bosses, side-scrolling madness, gratuitous violence, America, dozens of uniquely skilled bros, exotic set pieces, bulging muscles, and America. In single-player, co-op, or deathmatch multiplayer, brofists and terrorists' limbs will fly. God bless Broforce.

Duke it out in the name of freedom and all that's good and manly by basking in the ridiculous glory of Broforce, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 60% discount will last for the duration of the Summer Sale.

gamesfreak64: Sorry to hear that, but you could have asked me: if you had asked me : "Will Broforce arrive on GoG"
i would have said ; yes it will, let me explain:

Like i said before, numbers /reviews do count, so if game is doing extremely well, sells by the 'gazillions' and the dev/publishers are willing to negotiate on drm free versions, the game will have 99% chance it will arrive.
As for voting: we have 'gazillions' of games voted for, but: voting does not 'guarantee' sales.... reviews and sale numbers like Broforce has on steam..... do, and these matter, not the gazillion votes for games on anywishlist, cause if every gamer votes for a game even if he /she doesnot like it but want to help out a fellow gamer who does like it, you get 1000000 votes on any game, which wont guarantee it will sell a lot.
I have soo many old games on my external list, but.... they wont ever come, shadow watch was a lucky, i have the retail game, and suddenly it was there i was very happy with it and got it right away.

Anyway i am a gamefreak, want to buy games , lots of them if possible, but availability also counts, you cant buy whats not available.

BrokenBull: I think what you wrote is a legit explanation, but why is it that Humble Store can sell a drm-free version before GOG? I think it would be fair to have both stores receive the game at the same time. This way people could choose which store to buy it from. If Humble Store receives a game and sells it drm-free is it guaranteed it will come to GOG? When Humble Store receives a game to sell it drm-free I think GOG could let fans know if they will receive the game. At that point they are probably negotiating with the developers by then.
Maybe because Humble gives a percentage to Charity?
10% of proceeds go to charity * | $4,644,000 contributed to charity
thats what it reads, so maybe the publisher release it sooner because of the charity.
One of the most fun games ever made.
Hey GOGbros, where is the free standalone expansion of Broforce, The Expendabros?

blakstar: Any chance of getting The Expendabros as a bonus goodie?

Doesn't matter if not, but I'd really like to see it here as well.
That is a wonderfuly great idea !

One reason Broforce is goming to GOG now, is that there is a BIG ASS update(probably one of if not the last of them) planned for July 4th. They're probably planning their promo campaign ahead of that.

I wouldn't be surprised if the semi-movie tie-in it is may prevent it from being released here.
Another great summer release! This should be fun to play with my actual bro. Will consider getting it during this sale.

There's little point in bringing it here, it's free on Steam and doesn't require the base game.

It's also seemingly DRM-free there. I've played it without the client before.

chevkoch: Yeah, I figure the same - apparently it was made with Unity. Maybe some of the juice needed is for fancy effects, but I'd easily do without these if the game would be less hardware-hungry. I'm sure Broforce could be done so it'd run on older computers. Sucks for me I guess.
It's another case of indie developers overstating/being overly conservative with their stated system requirements to avoid issues with people complaining about performance. It's happened before with other indie devs, and from their perspective it's fairly reasonable.

Despite the seemingly monstrous system requirements, I spent the better part of last night playing the game on WINE (staging-1.9.11, w/Mac driver and CSMT enabled) on a 2010 MacBook Air (1.4 Ghz C2D/2 GB RAM/256 MB GeForce 320m). I didn't even need to install or tweak anything else in winetricks. Sure, I had to disable post-processing and vsync, and I had to knock down the resolution somewhat, but apart from some minor lag in the 3D overworld map, and some slight delays in loading the game runs just fine.

And if it'll work on that setup, I'm sure it'll work on yours too.
Waiting for the Linux version :)
Just played through the Expandabros mini episode on Steam to see whether the gameplay was to my liking. It's actually a pretty fun little action platformer shooter thingie. I may get this after all.

Me too, pretty good. You could almost think of that as a demo.
I've been waiting for this! I would instabuy this if my graphics card hadn't made other plans this morning...
Great! No, Mac/Linux version again.
