chevkoch: I just think it's helpful if there's a demo available, so you can test it on your computer if you think you might be able to run a game. It's become rare though, I wonder why.
Oh you better not base your expectations on that demo on their website: it's something that hasn't been updated since 4 years or so.
You're better off playing the Expandabros standalone on Steam, which was released around august of 2014, but has received a handful of updates since then and is more likely to run like the real Broforce game.
Broforce Mac & Linux added. You might not see the indicators right away but rest assured both versions are there :) Thanks for your patience, everyone, and sorry for the delay :)

Thanks much for your heads-up. I tested Expendabros and while it runs, I had to lower the resolution (like rampancy mentioned) to not have it perform sluggishly. But that does away with the crispness of the graphics, which irks me a bit. I think I will pass on getting Broforce after all for now. The standalone demo is a couple of fun levels and I'll just have to make do with that until I'll get a faster machine sometime. Not like I won't find a lot of other titles to get in the current sale that will run perfectly :)

On the other hand you might wait for the 4th of July to reconsider your purchase, as they announced a performance update, as well as some new content. Broforce does not run at its full potential on my computer too, and i'm looking forward to this patch.
I'll keep you updated about it if you want :)

Agreed. The Expendabros uses a lot of enemies, mechanics, etc. that were recycled for the finished Broforce. It's fair to think of Expendabros as an updated demo in that regard, though I wouldn't entirely trust it as a measure of system performance as I was able to run Expendabros on a laptop that I bought in 2008 (at which time it was not a state of the art system) while the finished Expendabros wouldn't run on that machine. ( I'm able to run the Expendabros on my new laptop with Windows 10, 8 G RAM. The only problem that I've had so far is that levels an be pretty slow to load, but they work just fine once loaded.

Anyone who's curious about whether or not they'll like the game (Do you have any appreciation for action games and '80s/ 90's action movies? Then yes, you'll like it.) should stick with the original demo rather than Expendabros as the original demo is a bit more similar to the finished game in tone. The demo itself is very solid and gives you a great feel for the mechanics/ humor of the game. Be warned, though. The demo contains a big, frustrating glitch in the final level that makes killing the final boss impossible if you pursue him to the end of the level, among other bugs. Still, it's a fun game in and of itself.

So how does the gog version do multiplayer? Does it require Galaxy?

You might want to add a notice to the first review that complains about the lack of the Linux build.
Just got to Arstotzka :) Nice nod to Papers Please in the game.

That would be great, I'd love to hear what comes of that and your mileage then! Cheers :)

I was surprised by how long the demo was, feels like a complete, compact game in itself. Wanna play through it again.
