The land of the pirates and the home of the brave.

Braveland Pirate, the concluding episode of the Braveland trilogy, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 25% launch discount!

You've wielded the sword and shield, you've wielded the magic, now you'll wield the cutlass and parrot in the concluding (and, as is fitting for the end of a trilogy, most epicest) episode of the Braveland trilogy.
Braveland Pirate continues a tradition of quality strategy gameplay in a cute and quirky, hand-drawn wrapper. The Braveland series has always set out to strike a balance between accessible tactics and head-scratching challenge - the final entry delivers precisely that: across open seas and treasure islands, you'll step on hexagonal, turn-based battlefields alongside a crew of daredevils, cannoneers, cabin boys (note: they prefer cabin men) and swashbucklers. Fitting for a pirate adventure, you'll also pillage booty, uncover hidden treasures, and take on bounties scattered across the nonlinear, tropical frontier. If you're ever in trouble, remember that every good pirate has a trick or two up their sleeve...

Braveland Pirate is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com! The launch discount will last for one week, until Tuesday, November 17, 1:59 PM GMT.
Good to see it here. I've completed and enjoyed the first two games - I'll pick this one up today. Thanks GOG!
Very simple games, oodles of fun, not sold as much with the whole pirate theme...nice price to boot.
Nice, nonetheless.
I enjoyed Braveland Wizard, but quickly lost interest in it once I finished - there is just not much variety in play. And Braveland Pirate appears to be just more of the same - even graphics are reused. Braveland Wizard was also very short. Unless reviews suggest otherwise, I will only buy this one if/when it is discounted to $2 level.

Impaler26: No classic release today?

gamesfreak64: do you mean an old one like 1989 or the nineties or a 2008 which is also and old one.
Yes, i mean an old game released between 1980 - 2005. IMO a game should be at least 10 years old to be called a classic.

Three of those released yesterday.

I know but i have zero interest in those boring X games. :D
Any thoughts on Braveland from someone who has played King's Bounty: The Legend?

I really enjoy King's Bounty, and when I saw the screenshots from Braveland, it struck me as a pale copy. I say copy because units from screenshots look very familiar, right down to the blond peasants armed with forks. That said,a simplified King's Bounty could be pleasant enough. Is it still satisfying to a KB player?

It is certainly attractive, though.

edit:
Hmm. Nevermind, thanks. I've reread the reviews and I think they've answered my questions.

Depending on your pace, you can knock out each of them in a solid weekend.

Think of Braveland as "HOMM/King's Bounty that I can reasonably play at work on lunch break."

Will do, thank you. Perhaps these are games I can actually complete.
Enjoyed the first one, even though it was super easy and super short. It was really more of a fun little flash-game you might play on one of those free flash games sites.

I have the second one, but haven't played it yet.

Might pick up the third one when it's down below $2. If it's as short and simple as the first one, $5 is too much at this point.

Do play the second one; it evolved the game a little bit. Slightly more complex interactions (slightly). There's a light skill tree now, and a few "repeatable dungeons".

Good to know. Will check it out at some point - it's in the backlog, but reasonably high up. :)
At first I thought this was Jack Keane 3... :`(
I played the original Braveland. It was fairly short, easy, and bland. I call it Banditland since you spend most of the game fighting generic bandits. More suited for children than anyone else, really.

Or, you know, adults that didn't become as serious about life as Bouchart. :)
