Nice, I have been waiting for this. Kinda the closest you can get to Total War, but all battles are automated. Also the game was made by one of the former Total War devs.

This is a wonderful turn based strategy game. Really wish it'd appear on GOG Connect since I just ended up buying it on Steam a couple of weeks ago.


It's a much more direct comparison to Civilization than Total War, the only thing really analoguous to the Total War games is how the battles are rendered, fairly detailed and in "real-time", but you don't actually control your units during these battles, you only give orders during your turn and then have them play out afterwards. Since all players take their turns at the same time, it's also possible that the enemy moves out of the grid before your units get there.

Vythonaut: Visually looks great and reminds me of Shogun II, which was lots of fun (w/ the DarthMod). Until Sega arrives here with the Total War series, i guess this is the closer to TW that we get for now. I hope the gameplay is as good as it looks; will definitely check out some reviews later.
It is more like Civilization with a better animated battles than Total War. You have no direct control over units, can only set formation and behavior. Still a really good game.

Sincerely i was so crushed when my Husband of 8 years left me and moved to Texas to be with another woman. The pains was just too much for me to bear that I couldn't just bear it anymore. That sounds interesting. Unfortunately the game does not come with Linux support, like all of todays releases.

The Total War series is one of the few I would be willing to pay full price to get it on GOG. It's the only high-priority game still missing from my collection. Before I found GOG, I was considering getting it on Steam. Now that I know about GOG, I'm going to wait a little longer until either GOG has it, or I start feeling desperate enough to buy it on Steam.
