The dhampir in the high castle.

<span class="bold">BloodRayne Betrayal</span>, a frantic side-scroller of supernatural slaughter, is available now DRM-free on GOG.com with a 50% launch discount when purchased alone or 75% alongside the rest of the saga.

Eventually, death comes for us all. But if your last image is that of an unnaturally sexy redhead clad in tight leathers, then you should probably consider yourself lucky. Also, a vampire. For the undead are the prey of choice for Rayne, the alluring dhampir (vampire/human offspring) with a flair for stylized death-dealing and superhuman acrobatics.

This time, Rayne's relentless hunt for blood-suckers has brought her to a remote castle teeming with misshapen horrors of the night. A great culling is about to begin, and our leading lady can't wait to put her trusty arm blades and deadly high heels into action — as she hacks, slashes, and blasts her way through the perilous hallways. BloodRayne has always been about gunning or cutting down hordes of monsters, and <span class="bold">Betrayal</span>'s sleek anime art and challenging platforming bring Rayne's blood-frenzy to life in spectacular fashion.

Rain death upon the ugly undead in BloodRayne Betrayal, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 50/75% discounts will last until January 28, 1:59 PM GMT.

amok: Well.... it is good to see how gOg's curated quality controller works. This game is as meh as it is possible to become.
The originals where mediocre action adventures, so no problem for me with this being here. I'm more forgiving on mediocre platformers. And it looks nice.

WTF Is... BloodRayne Betrayal?
I personally trust TB's opinions more than most of the dorito prone reviewers out there.

Crosmando: This is what happened to the Bloodrayne series?
It improved slightly?

micktiegs_8: I really want to hold out for Darkest Dungeon...

Is Windows 10 a no-go with this game?
Good thing you noticed that! I was thinking of actually getting it through a trade. The page does say it works on Windows 7 or 8, and that's it. I wonder what is its problem with Windows 10.

Does it use the XNA framework or any of the sorts?

Prah: Too bad you couldn't get 75% off if you also owned the two other games. Oh well, still going to buy it :)
Works for me, clicked 'checkout now' button in the 'Buy series – complete it' section and got a 75% discount in the shopping cart.

Not going to buy it now, my system specs are not up to scratch. What is it these days with 2d games and absurd GPU requirements?
mmmm, I'm kinda on the fence on this one: I completely love the art direction which is like a cartoon version of Castlevania but if at the same time the controls are supposdely unresponsive, it kills the gameplay.........

.......mmmm, well for 5€, it's better experience it for myself than wondering, after all I bought Dust Elysian Tail and hated it so it can be worse.... And for fuck sake, it kills the fantasy/startegy/rpg doomed streak of GOG releases.......

......End of the story: instabought ^o^

BTW, for those wondering as it's not specified on the GOG gamecard, the X360 controller is fully supported according to the steam page.

And for those who wants a complete preview of the game, here's a full run of one hour and half:

Never heard of this one. I have the others in the series though, so this for just over £1 seems like a good deal.
Incidentally, I really like the art style in this one. Would like to see an Aeon Flux game done this way.
Seems like an interesting side scroller hack and slash. Wishlisted.

It uses DirectX 9 and the Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 runtime :)

Actually the sidescroller looks more interesting than the old 3D games, which I didn't find perticularly interesting at the time, I was circling around it on Steam but never bought, I'm glad to see it here.

Simply put: CPUs don't have specific code for certain graphical effects while GPUs do, older or cheaper GPUs (like those on a laptop) are more limited in that regard and are more difficult to program certain 2d effects for, especially when the game is low budget so they can't spend too much time writing code for stuff that's far easier to program with a more recent GPU.
