i_hope_you_rot: plus Galaxy achievements .

Bunch of useless stuff for me .

By the way : bought the game .
lol! Yeah, I think I'm going to grab it, too, just so it's easier on the old eyes. This will be the first time I've bought anything from GOG since their horrible, privacy invading roll-out of profiles early last year.
I can count the number of games I bought at full price on one hand, and Blood was one of them.

Good game.

MarkoH01: I am really amazed by how much fun this game is now with the improved controls, no hissing sound and and and... BUT I also experienced a bug. Whenever I press APPLY on the video settings the monitor goes completely dark and I'll have to enter taskmanager and go back to the game. The settings seem to work even without using that apply button in most cases but pressing APPLY here is a bad idea for me. Anybody else has issues with these as well? Might open a support ticket but I guess it's not worth it if the culprit is my card (nVidie GTX106), OS (Win7/64) or driver.

omega64: Well, it seems to freeze constantly. Fun.
avatar
MarkoH01: When did it freeze for you?
Constantly, restarting the game fixed it. Weird stuff.
I like the amount of custom options available compared to Markarovs BloodGDX version. Pretty cool. More games need such stuff.

You know, I would like to see a remaster of Blood 2, since I couldn't get it to run reasonably on a modern OS.
Question: the discount for owners of the original has an expiration or is it there to stay?
avatar
Zoidberg: I'm wondering that too, the post is just a "buy it yea yea yea!" with absolutely no information on what's so great about the remaster.
avatar
MarkoH01: I already posted the answer to this question as have several others. Just bought it and I can confirm:

1) Mouselook works like a charm.
2) Many resolution settings and the intro scene that was letterboxed now fits the 16:9 screen while still keeping the aspect ratio (which means you still have some small bars on the left and right).
3) Key binding and rebinding is much more easy than with the original (you had to enter a seperate config program in the original).
4) Some graphic settings that might improve the look of the game (not sure how much these will do - it still is an old game).
5) If you like achievements you will have those as well now with Galaxy implementation - if not ... no bomus.

I also would like to add that they included the original bonus goodies as well. I own the original as well and compared those. So far I don't see any reason for fans of the original to notz buy this ... but I only played a little bit to see how controld are working.

For me it was really worth the small upgrade price - doubt that I will even play the original anymore now.
Thanks for the info, I may let myself be tempted to upgrade!
Finally Blood got the remaster that he deserved! Thank you, Nightdive and Gog! Instabought.

Can anyone that is critical and knowledgable about mouse input comment on the mouse look improvements?

Really not trying to be disrespectful, but "mouse look is good" doesn't cut it for me.

In other words, is there a limit on the look up or look down? Does the mouse have any acceleration, filtering, smoothing, or any buffer whatsoever? (The original mouse look is terrible, even with the bmouse fix.) Does it adjust to suitably low levels, for example around 35cm/360 at 800 DPI?

If it's true raw input, 1:1, no buffer garbage, then I am 100% in on this purchase. Unfortunately, I have an exceptionally low tolerance for anything besides clean mouse input these days.

Thanks.

Already did. Mouselook works without any problems and without any hassle to configure.

Mouse Smoothing is an option you can activate and deactivate as well as the sensitivity.

You can use mouselook now the same way you do in todays FPS.

GOG.com: Original Blood: One Unit Whole Blood from now on will be available as a free bonus with Blood: Fresh Supply.

Loger13: Nightdive, WHY? ;(
Why delete original as separate item? It's good to have original as bonus for remaster. It's bad not to have ability to buy it as separate item.
Good question. If someone wants to buy the original they have to buy the new version to get it? How is this fair to those who might not want the new version?

avatar
DoomSooth: Anyone who was going to buy the original already has. Why is it bad that they're only available together?
Some might not have the original yet.

TheGreatDustpan: Snagged. Cheers to the devs for including full Galaxy support. I hope the System Shock and Turok games get updated with the same kind of support one day.
System Shock already has an enhanced edition with many tweaks/fixes.

Why is that necessary? If you want the original, you can buy this version and just play the original. The Bioshock Remaster had the original bundled in on GOG but didn’t have it separate. Neither did Rune Gold in Rune Classic. I’m only annoyed if the original version just flat out isn’t available, like Doom 3 BFG Edition not including the vanilla version.

Is $5 extra really too much for that many people?

huppumies: You know, I would like to see a remaster of Blood 2, since I couldn't get it to run reasonably on a modern OS.
I agree;Blood 2 needs a remaster more then Blood One.
But Blood is a classic first person shooter,..Blood 2 not so much. I can see why Nightmare went for a remaster of Blood first.
But I would not be surprised if a Reamster of Blood 2 is not in the works.

AHF1349: You need to enable "Full 3D Aim Look" to get an undistorted view while looking up and down. So far this looks OK for a remaster but audio and music volume controls seem not to work. And I would like to see a strafe toggle key added so that I can play it like in 1997.
avatar
smrtgi19: where do i enable it?
It's under "Options->Gameplay Setup".

I won the GOG version of the original, but a five bucks I will take a chance on this one. If I have problems, I still have the original.
Are there any changes in the game play?
