Cat scratch fever!

Legend of Kay Anniversary a remastered release of the PS2 action-platforming classic, is available now for Windows and soon to Mac OS X, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 10% launch discount.

From the PlayStation 2, through the Nintendo DS, and straight onto your personal home computer. The Legend of Kay returns with a completely remastered experience thanks to high resolution textures, high-poly models, modern rendering techniques and surround sound - but with all of the same level design and gameplay you may already know and love. Kay is cat. But not the cute and fuzzy kind of kitty cat, he's the leap around slashing and slaughtering gorillas kind of ninja kitty cat. Back when it was just released, the Legend of Kay was lauded for its satisfyingly dynamic combo based combat, as well as smooth, fast and super responsive controls. As it turns out, with just a few updates the gameplay holds up just as well as it ever did, and this one is a must-have for anyone with a knack for a varied and skill-based mix of combat and platforming.

The PS2 classic returns in Legend of Kay Anniversary, available DRM-free on GOG.com! The 10% launch discount will last for one week, until Tuesday, August 4 at 12:59 PM GMT.

JudasIscariot: We just got Pax Imperia not too long ago :)

ShadowOwl: Okay, fair enough. ;) When it comes to old stuff owned by Nordic Games I really wish we would finally get Titan Quest.
Yes, Titan Quest please. Due to my way too huge library here on GOG, I’m actually contemplating holding off on buying any new games until Titan Quest comes here, because that is one game that I really, really, really want to play again.

IAmSinistar: You most certainly should play Shadow of the Colossus and Okami, those are two of the finest games I ever played on my PS2.
Yeah, that is why mentioned exactly these games of all things.

RadonGOG: ...i´d say that high resolution textures isn´t something that should be used in advertisement---neither in GOGs nor in your own! If there is one thing this remaster clearly lacks it´s highres textures! (My judgement is based on the vid as well as on the shots)
Hmm, they look plenty crisp to me. But maybe we're using different personal metrics for the term "high res". :)
Never had a PS 2, so I've never heard of this one.

But it sure looks nice - reminds me a little of the "Mini Ninjas".

Wishlisted - for now.
Another pointless remastered version with absurdely high system requirements thanks to polished graphics.

I would have preferred an 1:1 conversion of the original PS2 version which would run fine on my Windows XP machine.

I'll just get the PS2 version instead, a used copy in good shape shouldn't cost more than 4-5 bucks. :D

You really must live in a cave if you have never owned a PS2.

No offense.

Konrad: There's definitely controller support in the game. :)
The info should all be there now, thanks for pointing that out!
Phew, that's a relief. Thank you.

I cut the unnecessary parts out of the quote, if that's okay with you. ;)
I'll have to pick this up sooner or later. I never played the original but it looks right up my alley. Always glad to see day one releases here too.

Well, in my cave there were enough other consoles, already...Sony was only allowed to enter with their PS 3.

Not a problem, that is accurate as well. :)

Everyone and their mothers owned a PS2, thats how huge the console was. Even though personally the original Xbox was the superior console. So much that I wished alot of games made for the PS2 were built from the ground up for Xbox.

Imagine Shadow of the Colossus made for Xbox Original. Or GTA San Andreas (Yes I know it came on the Xbox but the game was built from the ground up on a PS2 with PS2 graphics)

Rachet and Clank games were arguably better than Jak and Daxter.

ThomNG: Enjoy this new release on GOG - finally the Legend of Kay franchise coming to PC :)
Does this mean Summoner 2 gets a port? =D

Possibly. I didn't mention either of them. :)

I hope so! That was a brilliant game. Nothing like its predecessor, but a wonderful stand-out title on its own. I really enjoyed how many different things you got to do in that game.
So what is this, a game about a tiger that goes door to door selling cosmetics?

Not enough pink.
